FIGHT YOUR WAY FREE IN HACK-AND-SLASH FURI, COMING TO PLAYSTATION 4 AND PC IN Summer 2016
From the Indie Team The Game Bakers and Afro Samurai’s Takashi Okazaki Comes This Frenzied All-Boss Fighter
Furi feeds on the tension of one-on-one fights against deadly adversaries. It’s an intense, ultra-responsive hack-and-slash with a unique mix of fast-paced sword fighting and dual-stick shooting. Each of the formidable guardians—designed by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki—has a unique and surprising combat style that requires focus and skill to defeat. Defeat one boss after another to escape this surreal prison and discover what’s waiting behind the last gate. The high-energy action gets a boost from an explosive soundtrack composed by up-and-coming electro musicians including Carpenter Brut, who created the trailer’s theme.
Furi’s combat gameplay is designed with Japanese games in mind -- ultra fast-paced and responsive. Your character moves as soon as you send an input. Skills and reflexes are required to dodge and parry the enemies’ attacks. You beat your enemies by shooting like in a bullet hell shoot ’em up, and by swordfighting like in a samurai duel.
“I have long dreamed of making a game of pure boss fights, with a focus on dueling and besting enemies who rival your own skill and strength,” says Creative Director Emeric Thoa. “Furi is designed with Japanese action games in mind — games that reward skills and reflexes, with a character that reacts immediately, like Devil May Cry, any game from Platinum, or even the Super Punch Out series.
Features
You can slash with your sword, shoot with your gun, dodge and parry. That’s about it.
You can also charge the slash attack, the gun shot and the dodge.
Once you’ve got that, you can play!
There’s no limit to how much you can improve, it’s simple and deep.
The challenges are based on a simple formula: get warned – react – punish.
The depth comes from the differences between the guardians. It’s about how you play a few moves differently to beat a different opponent.

Nice looks like it makes up for the terrible Afro Samurai 2 (ofc different developer but also Takashi Okazakis design) love pretty much everything about this gameplay looks good, ost sounds amazing, aesthetics look pleasing but i always liked Okazakis designs.
In case you missed this game... it's really, really good for what it is. Not too long, but perfectly paced, with very nice storytelling and atmosphere. Also several different endings and I really liked the art style.
Like what, it being AMD sponsored or featuring bi-pedal animals or having Hitler in it?...Or all at once?
(Actually Hitler in particular is pretty damn flexible and can be showed into pretty much any media and if you shave the "toothpaste" stache off it'll even get past the majority of the censors as seen with other works including Bionic Commando and Wolfenstein 3D although some other symbolism changes and a name adjustments was also required.)
EDIT: I guess there's Furia too or what that mythological female valkyrie thingie was called.
Today, developer The Game Bakers announced that the previous Xbox One exclusive DLC for Furi, titled One More Fight, is making its way to PS4 and PC sometime in March.
As you may know, the DLC features The Flame: a complete new boss fight set in a new arena. The DLC will cost $3.99 USD.
A PS4 patch is also scheduled to arrive the same day the DLC winds up releasing, and will bring new features like an alternate control scheme, and many fixes and improvements.
More details will arrive in March, according to the developer.
We’re happy to launch today a free update to Furi: the Freedom Update. With the update we’re bringing features and content developed for Furi over the last months to players on all platforms. The update includes the Invincible Mode, elusive boss Bernard, Speedrun in Furier and a new control scheme.
