You need to find the sunlight banner (sunlight medal won't do it) and then you equip it in your covenant slot to become a sunbro. To become a blue fucker I think it's the same with their banner.
I'm dying here, he got so angry he turned off the facecam, left for a few minutes then came back and ended the stream without saying goodbye to the viewers.
2 hours and about 60 attempts if I'm not mistaken.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
It did take me a few tries to get past the tutorial boss, but I was still learning the controls. Kept using my estus flask by accident when trying to attack, muscle memory from some other game. When I realised the idea was to dodge through enemies rather than dodge backwards it got a lot easier.
The stream ended a few minutes ago, he attempted to beat him for two hours before becoming so enraged he turned off the camera, left the room for a few minutes then came back and ended the stream without saying a word to his viewers.

And why should you die at all? It's an impossible feat in the vast majority of games these days, so why not turn on god mode?

This is the way how things like this happen on all games but this one.
Isn't that one of many things which make DS games so special? There is no "press X to win".
What are you guys talking about? It is not about dying or enemies being hard to kill. It is about not wasting time on mindless runs to go back to the same area to try again.
If I didn't like the challenge in encounters here I wouldn't even bother with this game. Feel free to waste time with running through hordes of enemies to retry a boss fight if you like that but I am not a masochist so teleporting via trainer for fast retry makes the game 100x more enjoyable for me.

By the way, am I missing something or equipment load is very limited in this game if you want to have fast rolls?
Starting knight gear (armor + shield + sword) + arrow filled that %70 limit for me so I can't even have torch equipped as an extra let alone using heavier armor or weapon. So I am still using my starter set. Leveling up the related stat increase the limit by 1 so it is not that helpful. I think there is a ring for it as well. Any other ways to increase this?
Should i reinforce the broadsword i found in the wall's? If not what (and where to find) early game weapon should i get so i can reinforce. Playing Knight and im in undead city.

Havel's ring, you need to beat one of the bosses before shorty can transpose items for you and then a later boss still for the soul so you can get the ring itself.
It no longer raises equipment load by 50% though, it's some small value based on your overall total equipment load capability but it still helps a bit.
(Don't expect to do rolls in heavy armor though unless you focus heavily on vigor but doing that neglects other important stats in turn.)
EDIT:

That knight near where the dragon was (Whom you can twink with arrows for a item.) drops his entire armor set plus shield and sword and those are pretty useful if you have the stats for them, broadsword works fairly well too though, different skill than the longsword but a little higher damage.
(Takes a while to get enemies to drop stuff though unless you use those coins.)

Focus on vitality you mean ? Because vigor has no effect on equip load but VIT does
So is it just hard for sake of being hard later on?
Ds1 was rewarding and had reasonable amount of bosses with well scaled difficulty.
Ds2 was a boss rush. Way too many bossess and some felt unfair.
In ds3 ive only played 2 hours so far so I dont know yet
