1. Just before Dragonslayer Armour.

Sometimes you get reminded how shallow and simplistic DS combat really is - just circle around with the shield, wait for your turn and smash LB
It's the tutorial area boss so obviously it's not going to be difficult. Especially if you use a shield which is basically dark souls' inbuilt easy difficulty.
That braindead style won't work on later bosses I don't think... Can only guess though since I've been using a duel wield build with some magic on the side.

The games were never complex. You just need a certain playstyle that is very rare in gaming.

Why do people still pretend the ridiculously easy dodging is some kind of "hard mode"? This series has always been extremely generous with i-frames.
Against most bosses, dodging is the way easier playstyle unless you only go for defensive stats.
@djaoni Why do so many people have their heads up their ass when it comes to this game.
Dodging with iframes is easier then holding up a shield and strafing ? What absolute garbage lol.

It is unless you're a completely and utterly retarded 80 year old or completely new to the series. As I said, focusing on defensive stats(in the 3 prior games) means blocking is easier, but that's a very boring build.
Should you do the Cathedral or Farrons Keep first?
I'm currently at the Cathedral bottom with the giants.
But i think someone posted you should do Farrons Keep before, or?
Oh and fighting those fat knights in the Cathedral at those narrow walkways at the top:
I finished the game Friday night. It took me 32 hours and I did everything I could without using a guide (I did search a few infos on the internet). It was good, better than DS2, but still troubled by the same problems like the rest of the series: acceptable PC port, low quality graphics, commands queue and some input lag, no weapon collision for enemies (I got hit through 3 walls) and various annoying bugs.
The artistic style was the most memorable thing in the game, Castle Lothric (the entire area) is imposing and impressive that it is hard to compare it with anything else seen in a video game.
The faster paced combat is a good change from the shield snooze fest of DS2. But it's good that From Software took the only true good thing from DS2: the itemization. I think SotFS is still in front in terms of weapons and armors due to the DLCs, but there is plenty of variety in DS3 items to shape up some neet builds and some fashionable looks.
The challenge was above DS2 (which was a cakewalk for me in terms of bosses) but still under what I've experienced in DS1. Most challenging bosses were Dragonslayer Armor and Nameless King, both taking me more than 15 tries to beat. The majority of the bosses I beat in 3 tries tops with very few exceptions. I'm glad that the devs didn't go all out again on artificial difficulty filling the areas with a ton of mobs like in the second game. There are some overpopulated zones, but still way more manageable.
The level design is way better than DS2, but still under DS1. Areas are interconnected partially, at best, most of the game following a linear pattern with a few crossroads every now and then. But there are plenty of secrets and sideways to satisfy the exploration needs of the players.
I found Dark Souls 3 a little too short, yes I'm an above the average player so I moved at a faster pace through the game but still, 32 hours (no PvP unless I was invaded) is a low number. If it wasn't for the swamp area and some locations with tiresome design, I would have probably beat it below 30 hours and I can't say I rushed it (but neither did I stood still and looked at the sky for hours ).
Overall, a good game, but riddled with problems that shouldn't have been here if the community would have been more critical in the past. I'm looking forward to the DLCs, I'm hoping each of them will be at least as vast as Artorias of the Abyss.
I'll cover Dark Souls 3 on my blog in a review that will feature two opinions.

I'm only talking about bosses, by the way. Of course blocking is way more mindless against random easy trash.
It's so and so.
For me, it's tedious, as I am used to properly responsive controls (Guild Wars 2 dodging for example). In DS3 there seems to be a keyboard input lag and the delay in performing the requested action is just... unbearable. I can't stand it, it gives me the impression that the game lags or that controls are broken. So, to overcome this - as I do like the game - I am taking the shield way.
Oh, and the fact that the key is used for multiple actions is just...
Which reminds me, somebody summoned me for Abyss Watchers bossfight, the host died, but before I was recalled, I killed the boss (final phase). Does host has to fight the boss again in such case, or he'll just run back and loot?

The boss will usually be dead at that point, but only if you killed him before the host entered his loading screen, which I'm not sure when exactly that happens compared to sending you home.
It's possible he had already left the area so to speak when you killed the boss.

Just killed that boss on ng+ a few minutes ago \o/ Stick close or else she'll just range your ass to above and beyond. Her melee attacks are easily dodged.
Is every area in this game as complex and as big as the undead settlement? I don't know how many hours I spent wandering around I can still find new places to go

Wait till you arrive at the Cathedral.

Is there any relation between the amount of hollowing/ dark sigils and the chance of NPC invasions ?
I ask because :
Spoiler:
I helped Sirris beat Creighton the Wanderer, and he should have invaded me later nearby Church of Yorshka.I was embered, and had about 48 hollowing at that time.
He didn't invade though, and i lost the chance of getting his armor.
