Nope. Had one in the first campaign mission.

Didn't get any at all with the EA version Laughing

Would be cool if someone could give some minireview for the campaign.

I watched some gameplay, which seemed to portrait the campaign.
And well, besides the cutscenes, the misions itself look like empty space maps with very generic objectives.

Surprised

So far, so good. Game is quite challenging even on normal difficulty. Shame there isn't a lot of time during fights to take closer look on ships Sad

@locke89 Their is a slow motion by pressing spacebar. Something to do with the techpriests.

Game crashed for me within 5 minutes of playing the tutorial
Think I'll wait for a patch.

No crashes here, but only played for an hour or so. Once I get home, have to make up for lost time. Very Happy

But during that hour it seemed really good, kinda reminded me of Nexus so to me the learning curve was non-existent. Runs good, looks good and seems to have a long campaign, what's not to like...

...pause button would be nice. Wink

Apparently the game only autosaves when you hit the end turn button - so if you have 2 or 3 deployments per turn, and you crash on the third battle, have fun replaying the other two again if you didn't manually save.

Crashes way too much for me, stock epic settings on 364.96 nvidia drivers.

Oddly enough, my friend who bought it legit played way further without a single crash - so it's either the drivers or the yarrr causing something funky.

sadly there is too often ctd problems to play the game. I'm guessing it's because of 3dm crack. It's killing my boner right now Sad

Sucks that the game crashes so often, as this looks like fun, even though I've had my ass handed to me twice in the first convoy mission.

I honestly can't tell if I like this game or not :/

Atmosphere is really good, but feels a little light on content ?? (Maybe I have just not played enough)

PROPER NOTES:

The CODEX release is crashing randomly after a period of playing. We
first thought it was due to gamebugs, but running the untouched edition
of the game through steam did not make it crash. We tested the CODEX
editon on several machines, all with the same result. Here is the
proper working release with no crashes!

what you mean light on content? the game is supposed to be a multiplayer head on game.

It does.

You can also do skirmish against AI with persistent ship and admiral upgrades etc. It's fun in SP.

I wonder if Skidrow use the 3DM crack, as it's supposed to drastically reduce the number of crashes. Will test it for myself later tonight.

2 hours in game with skidrow crack and no crash so far.

retarded 3dm must have fucked up pretty bad since skidrow fixed the issue so fast.

3DM crack works fine here. No crashes for 2 hours now. Previously, I used to have one like every 20 minutes or so.

Two questions, though:
1) How/when do I get more fleet points? 300 isn't nearly enough, I can basically field a cruiser and a light cruiser only.

2) Is the detection range of the Widowmaker escort ship 10,000 (as stated in Port Maw) or 5,000 (as stated in the pre-battle ship selection screen)?

don't hold your breath for a normal campaign: it uses the multiplayer modes masked with voiceovers and something more.
there are dedicated missions, but they are okish.

Don't use the 364.xx version drivers, they have documented crashes, artifacting and other problems.

I had missing objects with them even in Witcher 1, plus some hard Blue Screen crashes.

Downgraded to 362.00, no problem since then.

The devs/publisher pulled some crap with the pre-order/purchase within 2 months bonus. It wasn't specified initially that there are restrictions on the shops that provide this bonus and a few days before release they said (not even a proper announcement) that the promotion is only available for Steam, retail and gamesplanet purchases. Ugly business...

I've given up and uninstalled the game, it's way too hard for me even on the easiest setting. Anybody who wants a challenging strategy game should definitely try this one out.

The game is hard mostly because the difficulty is extremely artificial (like in the old days). The enemies outnumber you, they got more upgrades and you are most of the time in a disadvantageous position. Only by taking a look at the Orks in the campaign and comparing them with their multiplayer/skirmish version, you can see the differences. Somehow, the Orks in the campaign are faster than the Imperial ships, despite the fact that they should be slower and their ships are so freakin' tanky.

Btw game is not all about seek and destroy. Sometimes you have create a division, sometimes you have go silently and sometimes, well, full blown attack could be your only choose.

Campaign done! Took me 18 hours which is a really nice time for an RTS. Took me 4 attempts on Normal to beat the final mission. Couple last turns I also stopped doing those side battles. After a while they've become a real drag....

@locke89
How is the campaign now?
A nice story behind it, or just random scenarios with random cutscenes?

Story and pacing could be little better, but cutscenes are good enough to tide you until next one Wink Overall enjoyable experience. It drags a bit in the middle, though.
