A good mixed comedy and satire that provoque the German tabu of their nazi past, brought to the present day; based on pure science fiction, clever made.
It's not a comedy. Nothing is funny about what is happening in todays germany. The movie shows very well how the status quo fails so hardcore to leave room for an idiot like Hitler. I have a "friend" who is of an assyrian minority (basically descendants of people that survived the armenian genocide) who says that germany could use a small hitler, someone who dictates the direction, gives Merkel some opposition, just someone like Orban. The amount of mental retardation required for this is beyond comprehension for me...
Ridiculously good. This was the original thing movie that John Carpenter remade (and changed a lot of things, so that's a remake done RIGHT far as I'm concerned), but this is still a bloody good film, I'm genuinely surprised! The humor was brilliant, it wasn't scary or creepy like Carpenters version, but it had a nice suspense feel to it, and the practical effects/eye for detail genuinely surprised me for a 50's film.
...and fuck me, that fire scene.. jesus christ.. I don't think I've ever seen such a crazy sequence in a film that genuinely had my jaw drop out of how surprising it was, made me concerned about the actors/stuntmen, and.. kinda worried at how out of control it seemed... just look at this shit...
and yeah.. the monster is kinda crap but cut them some slack.. it was the 50s!
If you are fine with 50's black and white movies, and enjoy adventure films with a great cast, fun sequences and a bit of old school scifi, I totally recommend the shit out of it.
Batman vs Superman

First half was boring, second half was pretty decent. I liked the music themes from Superman and Batman and Wonderwoman is HOT.
Criminal - suprisingly good flick.
While it's full of typical Hollywood clichés, somehow everything (including music) falls together and just delivers for me.
Love Kurt Russell - but that's just not enough to sustain a film. Pacing was awful and it felt like an ultimately pointless experience. I didn't find the characters compelling - and the movie would have been vastly superior if they cut 30 minutes of walking and limping from it.
The gore was unnecessary and clearly the only reason this movie got any attention, which I find to be pretty sad.
That said, I love Kurt and some of the dialogue was pretty good. The plot was also interesting enough for me to sit through it, but the resolution felt off - and it just never worked for me.

It's really good all things considered - but I'm probably not as impressed as you are.
To me, it's just got great characters and great dialogue. The only monster-related scene that really works for me is the one where they open the door and it's right there. Pretty unexpected
Kalifornia - 7/10, kind of felt like a more down to earth Natural Born Killers. Great performances from Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis, but aside from that the movie was average.
Frailty - 8/10. Great thriller/horror movie, I thought the twist at the end was going to be predictable but it managed to swerve in a different direction and surprised me.

I love this movie btw the 1 minus point is not because of the cheap use of music (which is way too loud), or the bad audio, bad video quality and some questionable acting, but rather some responses and dialogues that could've been handled a bit different. I have a friend with a terrible taste in movies and he wanted to see this. Jesus fucking Christ, what an absolute abomination. What a colossal piece of garbage this movie was. Every single thing about this movie was absolute shit. It wasn't even funny, it was just pure diarrhea. I hadn't seen the first movie, but I know for sure that I never will. Wow, sooo bad!

13 - 4/10, completely pointless. There are a few big name actors in this, all of who had their talent wasted. For a movie that's supposed to be all about suspense they did a terrible job making viewers give a shit about the characters.

Just like Big Short it's a big eye opener - how did I not ever hear about it ? I have a feeling though, that the movie could be a little bit more interesting, less boring.
