The CGI has finally improved a bit compared to the previous trailers!
It's a good trailer too.

Can you describe your Apocalypse, this Apocalypse?
SINGER: The way I describe him the most, the best is he to me is the God of the Old Testament and all that comes with that. If there isn’t the order and the worship then I’ll open up the Earth and swallow you whole, and that was the God of the Old Testament. I started from there and when Oscar and I met we began discussing, since he isn’t really God, he’s the first mutant perhaps, but he’s not God necessarily, he’s imbued with certain unique powers. Some of them may or may not be from this Earth, we don’t know. Then we started looking at cults and the nature of cults, because cult leaders, true cult leaders, develop god complexes and he always traditionally had four horsemen so I thought a cult has traditionally four factions to it that interest me. It has a political faction, and I’d always felt Magneto could fill those shoes. It always has a military faction, so Archangel could fill those shoes as the guardian. There’s also youth faction [note: he doesn't say who represents that but only Storm is left, plus she is the youngest of his followers], those that you’re trying to seduce and grow into your cult, the young whose minds are malleable, and lastly the sexual component because cult leaders tend to sexualize their position and have sex with half the people in their cult. And the Psylocke character, who was a very bright character in the comic but is always looking for guidance and leadership. Always trying to find the right guy, so she starts with one and ends up with Apocalypse in this one. I always thought there was a mixture of ancient religion and cultism combined in the character of Apocalypse.
If nothing else at least there is some thought put behind the explosions, as Singer usually does with his X-movies.

When it was in preproduction I think I heard this was going to be Mystique's film.
First Class was Magneto's film.
Days of Future Past was Xavier's.
This is Mystique's.
First Class used pieces of the discarded "X-Men Origins: Magneto" script and the end product was very much of his origin story. This was pre-Hunger Games so Lawrence didn't have such a large presence, but her character still was clearly the third most important after Mags and the Professor.
I know in DoFP Mystique had a large presence (the whole plot was about how what SHE will do will change the future) because of Lawrence's popularity but at its core it was Xavier's film. Wolverine too had a large presence, he was the protagonist, but still the movie was about Xavier.. Stopping the (implied) booze/drugs abuse and trusting his powers again.. using Cerebro.. his conversation with his older self.. stop trying to control Mystique.. and in the end convincing Mystique to not kill and thus change the future.
This movie is marketed as Mystique's, because the trailers give her the most screentime, but I'm not sure why is it her film. What will the film say/do about/with her character. Will she just stand around because $$$? We'll see.

What’s this? The trailer ends with a slew of dead bodies, in a corridor that might seem familiar to fans of X-Men 2, and a hand wielding some very familiar metal claws. From the off, we’ve been told that Hugh Jackman’s Logan will be Sir Not Appearing In This Film for Apocalypse, but this (and the fact that Jackman himself teased the footage on his Instagram account) would seem to suggest otherwise. What gives, Singer? “Make of that what you want,” he pokerfaces. “I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in.” So, will we find out to whom the claws belong? “It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.” Well, that's just put the Wolverine among the pigeons.
Let's see.
The "something more pivotal that occurs with that" and "fits within the canon of all six movies" is bound to be that these scenes are going to be about how this version of Wolverine gets the adamantium, a subplot that's been relevant to most of the X-Men movies: X1, X2, Origins, DoFP.
The "birth of a new direction" has probably to do with perhaps how the kid Mutants help him this time so stuff happen differently and he doesn't lose his memory which would lead to events similar to what we saw in X1 & 2. Maybe he kills/captures Stryker this time around (the actor they used in DoFP is back for this movie) so his life unfolds differently.
Finally the "it’s not the only shot you’re gonna see" perhaps means Wolverine won't be in just this escape scene but perhaps has a bigger role. Although I'm sure not very big.

Reviews are meh/bad. Not BvS-bad I think, but plenty of 2-3/5 stars. Not many yet indexed on RT, I'll post a link when they add a bunch.
They funny thing is the let the review embargo end 18 days before the premiere, so they didn't expect these reviews at all.

What The Flick also said that it's very MEH, not as bad as Batman V Superman, but very dull... Damn. At least the one guy from them acknowledges that X2 is still the best super hero movie to this date... It's incredible how good that one was... if it were produced today, people would flip out. At that time superhero movies weren't as big as they are now.
