@fissesvin

Have you tried Elite Dangerous? I booted it up but the resolution seems quite low, not sure i could play as it is.

On another note:
Saw a good looking shooting / grenade tossing "game" on reddit. Cant remember the name. But it looked kinda awesome. Any ideas?

Was it 'Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades'

Yes thats it! Thank you Mr Grale

I think there is a bug with Elite and Vive so it displays the wrong resolution.

That makes sense. I didn't get that 'blown away' feeling when booting it up. I just though, shit this is low res Shocked

Elite dangerous was playable on my DK2.
So I can't imagine that it is unplayable on the Vive. (except for this bug)

Anyone tried this yet? It looks mighty fun to wield swords and spells Smile

Man I feel you.
I have been waiting for a long long while... not that I have ordered one. But you'd think they'd had the foresight to send me one anyway.

I feel the "I'm waiting for my VR to ship" could have been a thread of its own. Razz

Was really interested in it until I saw it used that teleport to move crap.

When I had the DK, using controls to walk like any other game didn't feel unnatural or immersion breaking, why do most Vive games feel the need to make you teleport to 'experience the play field area as its meant to be used'.
I want the WASD/contoller/(whatever you want to use) to move around. Leave the playfield to interact with things near you sure, but let me fucking walk around like I have in games for 20 years, until they make a better way!..geez

Wasn't saying it probably wasn't natural feeling, just not preferred for me.
The old DK demos that did it I didn't enjoy nearly as much as ones I could walk around in.
Like the MC hacked together fan made mods for DK1, it had both options.
Teleporting I got bored of playing it in 10 minutes after the "ohhh 3d blocks" effect wore off, the version the other guy made where keyboard/mouse was the way to move like usual, I played for 3-4 hours just wandering around looking and mining in a cave.

Wait till your excitement wears off and you can see clearly again. While I would take: it's not that bad. Saying: really good and natural... nope xD

Ok what I've tried so far:
The Lab
Amazingly fun and really impressive. Demonstrates what the Vive really can do.

Job Simulator
Simply awesome Smile Everything feels so natural. Picking stuff up and throwing and twisting and turning..

Audioshield
MUST BUY! Even the wife loved this.

Windlands
This game made me feel sick. You are standing still and falling and jumping and.... Vomit
Even 2 hours after I stopped playing I feel a little sick.. Makes me worried that the Rift is going to make me feel sick.

theBlu
Cool experience to demo to friends and family

Budget Cuts demo
THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. Must try!!!

Exactly my experience. I got used to it in game after 10 minutes but the initial vertigo was overpowering. I should have stopped but i felt fine after 20 minutes... Then the sick feeling came after i removed the vive. I went to bed feeling sick 2 hours later.

I'm going to try this one tonight Very Happy

Edit: This VR game requires a play area of at least 2m x 2m.

Oh fuck off Crying or Very sad

Some of the less intensive games are fine on my well-below-minimums system. I played the chef in job simulator for a while and it was fine. Same with tilt brush. The LOADING screen when loading the different labs in The Lab was instant nausea for me though. Strangely enough, once the little mini-game started it was mostly fine. The only section inside the lab that really gave me problems was the second "Developer Demo" room. I guess it's an easter egg of sorts that some people miss. When all the balloons start coming out and the room fills up. I had to shut-down VR and take the headset off after that. I felt carsick for two days from the stuttering.

To be clear, I blame it all on my very not-ready for VR system. I'm trying to decide whether to buy something now and live with it or wait for Pascal in a month and a half or so and see what happens with it.

Also, I really wish they would let you set an upper-bounds for chaperone if you want. I reached for one of the base stations on the shelf in the dev demo room 2 to see if I could interact with it. It just so happens that it was the exact height as my ceiling fan. Scared the living shit out of me as I was so into the "world" that it took my brain a second to comprehend what the fuck was happening. Got a nice little chunk of skin taken off my finger and a near heart attack from that. And not a mark on the controller Smile

I wasn't throwing up. I just felt like I rode in the back of an airplane in severe turbulence for 8 hours. Very Happy I was just a bit woozy and the feeling was persistent.

I've no doubt that when I upgrade my video card from a 760 that I'll have no problems. I was fine until I started playing the more graphic intensive things.

That damn archery mini-game in the lab was a blast. And the little arcade game. Both of those were awesome experiences

You can choose if you want to teleport or walk with the controller in game...

unfortunately the game crashes after 20-30 sec. and the screen freezes.
Not a fun experience!

Does the passthrough camera display in tron mode only?
I can see things but there are no details in the objects, I can see my keyboard but no letters on the keys just a blur.
