There's footage from the latest pre-alpha build, once again not exactly a feast for the poor eyes (the performance really doesn't help either), but gameplay-wise it could be interesting...sort of. Still a shit-ton of work to do though, the roughness is truly palpable
It was painful watching that guy play. Almost like he's never played a game before. Although the 10 FPS in the ever glorious Unity engine probably didn't help matters!
This looks cool though, going to be keeping my eye on it!

What the hell is he doing, some sort of retard who's playing?
Abandon this shit and give the rights to those Styx devs, they seem to be an inspiring bunch, this is done by tired old men who already got their fucking share, they just want it to be over. That's the feeling i get from most KS projects, once they have that big sum of money it's like they all pull the longest sigh ever; "oh noo, we really got to actually create this fucking game now too? kill me, please.."
Ultima Underworld was a pretty amazing thing back when it was first released, also had a lot of tech to it's engine though it hampered performance a bit on many current systems.
This re-imagined take on the series is a bit so-so looking thus far but eh, could still end up being a OK dungeon romp although they're working within the constraints of the Unity engine which isn't exactly helping.
EDIT: Ultima Underworld and it's sequel also had a involving story even if it wasn't quite on-par with the main Ultima installments themselves.
It's funny how the new game has like the worst imaginable graphics / engine of today while the original UUW was an absolute marvel of a game, something no one had done before. It was the first real 3D game where you could look around freely with the use of the mouse, move freely instead of grid based + unbelivable graphics for its time. I'm not asking for something as ground breaking, but this...
The devs seem to have good ideas and intentions (with the multiple approaches, stealth, use of physics/magic both as a diversion and attack) but alas, indeed the tech "supporting" them doesn't look like it's up to the task. I don't know how much room for improvement really is there with the alpha™ status and whatnot, I hope there's a lot of it still boiling in the cauldron even though the janky beast living underground is swallowing all the positive vibes.
