Does the passthrough camera display in tron mode only?
I can see things but there are no details in the objects, I can see my keyboard but no letters on the keys just a blur.

How do you go to tron mode?
This is what i see as default view. Just enable camera in settings and enable double tap menu button on a controller.
Gonna measure my IPD today. And I didnt know you can change the distance between your eyes and the lenses(not the ipd) for a greater fov.
So adjusting the IPD via the knob on the side, adjusting the lenses via the knobs built-in to either side of the headset, and changing the foam are mods now? Fucking redditors.
I need a good mirroring program. So I can stream the contents of the screen on "PC 1" (the gaming PC) to "PC 2" (the laptop) with good quality. Anyone got any ideas?
What you trying to do with it? like a simple twitch stream or something wont do? I know its sort of a hokey solution, but its a very simple one.

I have the play area on the second floor and the gaming pc on the third floor. I would like to stream the contents from the PC on the third floor to a laptop on the second floor so friends and family can watch what happens in the Vive on the laptop
What games would you guys recommend that are good for the actual game, and not for the 3d effect? Not saying anyone of the recommendation given so far are. Just asking in general.
Seems like a lot of the games/demos are doing the VR version of the cheesy thing 3d movies did in the 80's when it was a new tech. The whole "Whooooa, look at that spear we pointed at you, its like its in your face!" gimmicky thing.
Seems a lot of them are just crappy games that 'feel' exciting to look at in 3d.
Like job simulator, Im sure its amazing to play, but once the "its real 3d" wears off, I cant see myself playing it. You get what Im saying? Once the awe of it being 3d settles in, If I wouldn't enjoy it on a monitor I dont think I could get into it in 3d for long.
Like if GTAV or arma3 was VR, I would enjoy the HELL out of it, as it would add to the game, not be THE reason for the game, if that makes sense.

Just tried Lucky's Tale using revive. I'm really impressed, I never thought this kind of game would work. I was wrong it's very good.
I let the wife have a quick play and she spent longer playing than I did. She didn't realise she was humming and giggling out loud haha.
Vanishing Realms http://store.steampowered.com/app/322770/
This is just awesome. Adventuring in dungeons, fighting giant skeletons. Looting and smashing crates. It all feels great.
Still need to try this one but it was recommended as full game:
Sold mine yesterday for a little profit (Vive). Very sorry to see it go but it's over complicated setup for my needs. And impossible to use room scale games.
Mid to late June for my rift to arrive. Patient bear mode enabled.
When did you order yours? I ordered mine on Apr 7th... still say on processing... moved from Submitted to processing about 5 days ago but not been shipped yet. I guess any day now.

New Retro Arcade, the UE4-powered virtual arcade powerhouse, is coming to Vive in a new upgrade called "Neon" - bringing room-scale VR *and* multiplayer to the program Anyone who has tried NRA in VR already knows it to be pantwettingly nostalgically awesome.. but now, with multiplayer and room-scale...? Holy shit.
It's still being updated for the Rift too, the devs are working on updating to support SDK1.3/CV1. The latest builds of NRA come with fully-featured cabinet and layout editors, letting you add your own games, your own artworks, and there's even a modding community on Reddit
I hate to rain in the parade with my confusion, but I just dont get the point.. Buy VR to experience playing a game on a flat 2d screen.
Maybe its for the same reason virtual theater didn't do anything for me? I get that its to simulate being in an arcade, but when your playing a game its the same as being in an arcade and your focusing narrows to the 2d screen anyway as you concentrate on it. Am I missing the point?
Like right now, I can look left and see the living room TV down the hallway and watch it. Don't have any urge to simulate something like that in VR.
Its just simulating something that already exist and I can go do in person.

So why buy a VR headset then?
To play racing games? You can do that in reality! It's just simulating something that already exists and you can do do in person!
To play climbing simulators? It's just simulating something that already exists and you can do do in person!
To play GTA or Arma? It's just simulating something that already exists and you can do do in person!
Please, do tell me why you bought two hyper-expensive VR headsets if you don't actually intend to enter a virtual reality? Surely you know, right? There must be a reason other than "because it's the next big thing"?
I'm glad for you that you can go out right now and go to a real arcade and play games with people, most everyone else isn't that lucky because arcades largely don't exist any more. This experience just adds a new dimension to playing emulators and if you can't, or won't, understand why that appeals to people.. than that's not my problem, but I can promise you; you're not raining on anyone's parade

Going to an arcade or theater is a normal activity people do for a few bucks everyday. They arent once in a lifetime (or never in a life time) experiences.
Now maybe for the nostalgia if it was a reproduction of the arcade I grew up in. Then I could see it, so I could experience that place again and the feelings of it.
But the other reason you asked about, none of these could I plan to pop out and do one evening:
I cant go on a rampage in a car and shooting people stealing cars like GTA5
I cant go fly in a lift chopper with 30 other people to fight rebels next to tanks and APCs.
I cant take my Mclaren and go race Nordschleife.
I cant hop in a spacecraft in 0G and dogfight other pilots.
I cant sit down in an F16 and take a joy ride.
I bought them to live vicariously through them doing things I can only dream of doing. Going to the movies or the arcade down the road isnt on that list
Like I said maybe its just me. I want to experience things I cant in real life. Not simulate what I could get ready and go do this evening.
(To me) it makes as much sense as making a pub simulator where you all strap on your headsets and sit in a virtual bar with your friends drinking virtual beer.

Well good for you? Like I said, most people can't do that. This allows *them* to live vicariously through experiences they otherwise can't usually have, or to emulate other experiences without the cost or hassle.

It is just you. The simple fact is, you can go out and shoot up people and steal cars in real life.. you choose not to. You can go out and pilot helicopters and fight rebels, you choose not to. You can hop in a racecar and race other people, you've chosen not to. Others? Maybe they want to play some arcade games together in an atmosphere that they can't usually replicate in life. But hey, because "you" can go to an arcade and play games (for free? you can play for free, yes?) whenever you want and others can't, then "you" can't understand why something like NRA would appeal to people.

I cant do them safely or without repercussions..or without a LOT of effort, cash, and preparation and planning for months if not years to even hope they come true. I hope you do the the difference between the comparisons of driving your dream car on a world famous track thats a once in a life time experience if your lucky, and standing in an arcade.
If they made "bus ride simulator" where you sat at a bus stop and waited to get a bus, boarded and them sat for 15 minutes while reading a ipad..Im sure SOMEONE would like it, but doubt many of us would. To me (just me not speaking for anyone else) thats an equal to this. its simulating not that exciting real life things I can do now.
And I wasn't saying people was stupid for wanting to, I was genuinely curious what others saw in it that I didn't.
Maybe I was taking for granted here in the US, like where I live your always no more than 15 minutes from some sort of bowling alley with an arcade in it.
