i kinda feel bad for remedy (but not really) - they have great ideas and make great games, but their whole microsoft partnership thing is ruining their games and their success... they need to find someone else who is willing to finance their games without so many shitty catches and concessions.. they made max payne 1 and 2 ffs, dont tell me no one else is willing to work with them.

shit id even be happy for them to kickstarter/self finance smaller games if it helped them gain future greater independence for bigger titles... just get the fuck away from microsofts control.

I guess the payments by MS are too lucrative to say no for some devs.
Else i can't explain why a dev would want to release his game on such a restrictive platform.

i believe they said 'no one else would support them on such an ambitious cross-media project' or something to that tune.. and yeah it was obviously an ambitious project, but no one should EVER partner with microsoft, no matter how ambitious the project.. it should seem obvious from the outset, any 'amazing' project you have in mind, is going to get ruined by microsofts control.. its just not worth it.

Same with FOX. Nobody should *ever* partner with Fox, not ever ever ever ever ever, but they still keep doing it and they still keep getting cancelled and their IP stolen. People that do what they so blatantly fucking SHOULDN'T EVER DO get no sympathy from me when the inevitable happens.

If anyone had told me years ago that there would be a time in the not-so-distant future when PC games would receive a 27GB patch to introduce a quit button, I would have called the nearest headshrinker Laughing

See the game is right, time is broken and even though you may try to fix PC gaming, it always leads up to the same result Laughing

Don't open the store then? Very Happy Just open the start menu and type "Quantum" to get the game to show, then either pin it to start menu for easier use or simply click to run Smile

Huh!

Because they got free hardware thanks to good games they've made -> they made Quantum Break as it is at the moment -> the joke was that they should return the hardware they got for free.

Latest version is now up on RIN, courtesy of our own lovely Mr Beckman Very Happy Heavily compressed down to 37GB, extracts to 67.5GB. Same installation method works just fine.

Every now and again you will occasionally come across one of these problem textures, in this case this carton has completely refjuiced to stream in the texture fully. Razz

Same issue on xbone too if that reassures you. The game engine remembers me of unreal 3 engine with how it streams textures.

There was even a graffiti on a wall I never could see correctly because you need to hold Y to see the "old graffiti" and the engine can't load the texture fast enough before reverting to the new one Laughing

And that is on the platform the game was designed for. No game breaking but still a damn shame for a triple A game.

Quantum Break Is Perhaps THE Most Beautiful PC Game in 4K Without Its Reconstruction Tech
Quote:
The latest update for Quantum Break includes an option to disable the reconstruction tech, via which the game was rendering at a lower resolution and was then upscaled to your desired resolution. And below you can see for yourselves what this game looks like in 4K without that annoying tech.

Quantum Break is beautiful. No, let me rephrase it. Quantum Break is perhaps the game with the best visuals we’ve ever seen. Its lighting system is spectacular, it’s packed with really high-quality textures for pretty much all surfaces, its shadows and ambient occlusion effects are stunning, and its reflections are sweet.

Quantum Break was simply unplayable on our GTX980Ti in 4K. We are pretty sure that we were hitting below 20fps (yeap, it was THAT bad). However, the game in 4K without its reconstruction tech looks stunning. So let’s forget for a second its UWP nature, its lack of multi-GPU support (that it’s due to DX12, at least for now), and that everyone hates Microsoft’s store and let’s focus on the quality of its visuals.
