I really wish they would try a not so overused time-period this time.
But they probably will play it safe again and chose something like a Future or WW2 scenario again.
If they go for WW2, i just hope they will include fucking Battleships again, that you can freeely control. Still have no idea, why those were only featured in the very first BF game.

For an arcadish version of Battlefield with extremely linear maps BC2 was pretty good.

As if BF3/4 wasn't arcadish... Also maps weren't any less linear than most CQ maps in BF3/4....It's just that most people played Rush, which was absolute superb in BFBC2 compared to BF3/4 counterpart.

There are some decent conquest maps in BF3/4 and Rush in BFBC2 was a chock poitns clusterfuck with a spam of grenade or grenade launchers.

Rush is only fun when the server knows how to play it, then again 90% of them don't. Long ticket large conquest is the true gamemode, alongside the Gun Game.

So much heresy in such a small statement.
You want Rush, go play any other shooter out there.
Conquest is the heart of Battlefield, and I don't know why DICE even spend time on development of the other trash modes they've wedged in there. They shouldn't bother with the SP campaign either.

TBH I wouldnt mind a little comeback of WW shooters with modern engines, we had too many modern/futuristic ones in recent years, maybe its time to comeback to WW1/2? Anything good released with that setting in last 1-2 years?

I dont mind WW2, but I really hope its not something futuristic .. Or, when it is, then 2142 or smth like that..

I suppose this being Bad Company only makes a significant difference for single player. As far as multiplayer goes, the subtitle shouldn't matter much. Or maybe they will scale down again, but we already had Battlefield "lite" with Hardline and even Battlefront.

I can see them avoiding that, since the last 3-4 CoD's were in "the fiutur!1" and maybe they're trying to give folks an alternative for that.
