By many, do you mean some silly vocal minority on a pirate site? Or just the cheapskates and those that cannot afford the game, which would have not bought it anyway, but will buy it with not one thought about the DRM from some India or some keystore? (Disclosure: I bought it from a key store as well.)
I can absolutely understand the frustration of Denuvo by someone who wanted to pirate it, and now can't at the moment. For someone that wanted to buy, Denuvo is a very transparent DRM. No rootkits, no shady business, no evidence of performance hit. In fact, the only "performance debate" has been on retardedly terrible ports, where Denuvo is not the problem, and once cracked, will prove that it was indeed the derpeloper to blame for shoddy performance. |
Personally, I think you're being incredibly unfair and inordinately flippant about the whole thing.. just because you bought it cheaply from a key warehouse. Calling people cheapskates? Brushing off complaints as inconsequential? Why? Because it's a game you like and you can afford? Seems unfair and hypocritical to me, I'm sure you were no fan of uncrackable DRM measures in the past, why the change of heart now? Why is everyone else in the wrong for complaining, or being labeled as cheapskates?
*shrug*
Denuvo isn't going to earn GreediMax any more money than without it, I won't kowtow and I'll either use a friend's account, or pay for temporary usage, or just wait for a crack. In the end, I'm pissed about Denuvo because, yes, I'm a "cheapskate" and I'm "too poor" and I buy what little I can afford from "India store" - just like many others are, but I can wait for a free method It's just a shame PC gamers are the ones with the short end of the stick as always. I hope you enjoy the game, we'll all get to play it someday

Alright, it's time for me to activate the trusty patient pirate bear mode as per usual.
Farewell Slowpoke Doom, back to the backlog we go. One day we'll meet again!

I guess this pretty much confirms Denuvo for Dishonored 2 (unless someone is able to crack it succesfuly by the time it releases).

I personally can't wait to use the pirate rejoicing gif when the rest of newest Denuvo games will finally be cracked/bypassed.

Yes, I like it. It feels like a mix of the old Dooms and Doom 3, but with the inclusion of stupid arena sections. However there is plenty of exploration and non-arena combat. There's a lot of incentive to explore the levels since you get upgrades for doing so.

You missed the point of my post. Reread it. I am a cheapskate as well (to a point). I feel for you for being annoyed by there being no crack for Denuvo and not being able to play the games. But none of that matters, because for a paying customer Denuvo has no seeming downsides or annoyances. It's not like StarFarce where it would install drivers in your Windows or other rootkit DRMs, which I've hated in the past. You are pissed because you can't pirate it. If you had the cash, you wouldn't give one fuck to buy it and install the game. But for a paying customer, that's not a short end. It is for you, but since you had no intentions to buy it, you don't matter in the statistics. So the claim that Bethesda spat in PC gamers' faces and didn't tell them there is Denuvo is ridiculous.
On premise, I agree with you about DRM. But that is, also, beside the point for what was discussed here.

@randir14
Besides the connected arena rooms, did you encounter some other gameplay yet?
Like the obligatory search for a key, pressing buttons or some other kind of "puzzle"?
Or is it really just only action?

So now we know that the game has pretty good gameplay, besides the arena shit that is. How is the story?

No puzzles so far. There are buttons and keys, sometimes they open secrets and side areas to explore. The first couple of levels were a bit linear but the one I'm on now (third or fourth mission I think) is a lot more open.

Let's face it it's probably just another derp shooter anyway and you won't miss out on much. I know it's easy to say for me since none of the Denuvo protected games interested me very much so far, sooner or later some game i care about will have it but then again i would probably buy it anyway, tbh the best protection is still making good games people actually want to buy but it doesn't seem like publishers got that yet.

It's pretty stupid to complain that you can't pirate something. The devs are obviously entitled to protecting their creation and get their investment back. Also, trying to discredit the game because of the protection it uses is very misguided.
I understand that there's problems affording this, and other games that use denuvo, but suck it up, wait for reviews from other people that got it, wait for a discount or get it from a key shop and don't play the assumption game. You know, be reasonable.

What VPN are y'all using ? Just tells me that preload has finished with VPN on, even after restarting. I checked with whatismyip and I'm in Melbourne.
I feel like i had something similar with Fallout 4..
Edit: nvm works now, steam is a fickle bitch sometimes.
