An all-around competent send-off, everything went better than expected. Very Happy It pleased me and partially made up for the slog that preceded the final events, going out with the "it was fun until it lasted" effect. More uninspired seasons would have done more harm than good in my opinion, I feel like they did the right thing.

I think they didn't expect to get cancelled so soon and they had to come up with some shit real fast ergo this crappy season...

Oh, and I guessed who killed Rebecca right in the first episode Very Happy

That was the second best fight in the whole series after the Hood vs MMA guy one. Carrie vs Olek pretty close to those 2.

Yeah, that could be the reason Razz Sad. Though what kinda 'confused' me was the fact that I was reading some time ago an interview with Jonathan Tropper (the creator) who basically said:

Quote:
The recent announcement that our show would be coming to an end confounded our fans and media alike. Why would Cinemax cancel their flagship show at the height of its popularity? The answer is even more confounding. They didn’t. I did, in consultation with Banshee’s creative team.

(there is the proper explanation: http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospectus/leaving-town-the-creator-of-cinemaxs-banshee-explains-why-hes-ending-the-show/ )

The road to hell is paved with good intentions ... dat dude practically ruined season four..

And I still think he is full of shit.. no way it was supposed to be the last season..I was expecting 2 seasons to properly wrap things up..

The final ep was good enough, but what a craptacular end to a very enjoyable show. Maybe this season should never have happened.

The best scene from the series finale is Proctor The Scarface So Much Win

Funny thing about that... In the final exchange between him and Carrie, when they were saying goodbye, he said something like "Bye, Ana." and she responded with "It's Carrie." However when I heard it I could swear she said "It's Gary". I thought it was the name reveal, but in the way I understood the exchange it didn't make any sense, so assumed it just sounded like that due to some vocal slip. But maybe I misheard the whole thing, or it was some fourth wall breaking wink Philosopheraptor

Personally, I don't think they intended to reveal the name anyway - didn't really matter that much and it's not like it would have been a very exciting event.

Exactly. Something else definitely happened behind the scenes. While I could appreciate what they were going for this season with the whole
"everyone has to face the consequences of their actions" theme, it felt a bit hollow since it should have come in Season 5 instead of Season 4.

The same goes for Lucas as the "haunted by the ghosts of his past" which would again have fared better if it had played out in Season 5.

Anyway, I really liked the ending and the music.

1 and 2 are still amazing.
