Point Break (2015)

FFS these people weren't even trying! / 10

Shame is it had the potential to be a good xtreme sports movie, it was even decently done up until the wingsuit scene (best scene) included, then from there on... it's like they just didn't care anymore.

Now I have to re-watch the original one so I can get rid of the ultra sour taste.

Properly cheesy.

Captain America: Civil War
7.5/10

Well directed, good action sequences, some funny scenes but a hilariously bad story. Yet I enjoyed it - more so than Winter Soldier which everybody else seemed to like more - immensely for what it is Smile But I also got to see the Rogue One Trailer in 3D and I have to say... wow, that looked really good! The 3D in CA:CW was ok. It was actually best when you didn't notice it. But the 3D in the Rogue One trailer looked fantastic! The depth effects in Episode 7 weren't half as good.

really really good.. i think the whole 'social message' got a little TOO over the top and preachy towards the end but for the most part it was solid, and i had a fair few laughs.

Yeah, it was pretty great, and I got to say, watching it with SVP was a whole other level of spectacular. The movie already looked gorgeous, but with 60FPS, it was something else. In live action flicks it can be jarring, but not here.

The story was ok, kinda hits you over the head with it, but looking at the state the US is in these days, I cannot fault them for trying to tell the public that "racism is bad" as clear and as obvious as possible.

So yeah, it is a great Disney movie, and if you know what's good for you, watch it with SVP.

Some pretty impressive CGI (and pretty awful) ..but overall it's crap..

140 mil budget.. and they couldn't get a decent writer?

Well that was an uninteresting one... I expected a nice psychological thriller but what I got was just something that played the 'weird' card. We grew up with the internet so this had no effect at all. Felt rather derp.

The Book of Life - 5/10
It was all over the place and too busy visually for me.

Fantastic Mr Fox - 9/10

Kill Command - 6.5/10
I was surprised it was decent, simple story but well executed.

Zootopia - 7/10

Entertaining and charming, Disney style, with a great amount of audio-visual polish and some sparks of genuine brilliance.
The moral tone though is consistently too omni-present (agree with Chiv), like a stereotype trying to fight fellow stereotypes, and there is also perhaps too much 'nu-gen-ness' that I typically find difficult to digest, but the final result is a pleasant one and the characters themselves aren't annoying, which is positive. Razz

On a side note, can already see Hopps being some grade A fapping material for furries Cool Face

I kinda don't like the teen version. It's way too soft. Please make new one with grown ups and Rated R.

gods of egypt

so... basically... if im understanding this correctly... horus... was iron man?

i disagree with the visuals being amazing, they felt toonish (but at least since the entire film was green screen, it was at least CONSISTENT so not jarring, just overly synthetic and unnatural)

ending was a missed opportunity

 Spoiler:

otherwise... ehh... the film reminded me very much of that rock hercules film.. not very satisfying, ultimately quite lifeless and hollow, uninspired, low-aiming, but ultimately very harmless and an OK little time-waster worth at least ONE watch.

The relationship/'fun" between the core protagonists was enjoyable at least.

I suspect it would have been fun to watch in 3D, too.

Surprisingly great movie! 8/10 at least. Some stupid bits at the ending.

Yes. Live action movies can look weird with it, but since it's a CGI movie, it's like watching a game cutscene in glorious 60 FPS. Smile

Painful, cuts from first movie mixed with some new footage. watching them back to back made it even worse. Would not recommend watching it even if you have not seen the first movie.

2/10

point for new jokes.
