Of course it was going to be pushed. We barely have any info on the game. Only gameplay videos we saw are the one with the dev playing, or near the player. No videos of people doing what they want and going where they want. This game will fail

No Sky Men!
Their internal testers falling asleep mid-game probably gave them the needed direct feedback to re-valuate the situation xD

In all seriousness, the additional time should definitely be used to add more contents and life to the game, even though there's always the fact that when you aim too high and fly too close to the sun, you do like the poor Icarus.

If it's only being delayed a couple of months, it's not for content. It will be for fixing bugs and performance presumably.

Yep, pretty much. Laughing
I mean feature and gameplay content though. As content in the form of planets should be enough for a few years.

I manage a Gamestop, and I've seen NO communication on this delay.

So, after seeing that a GameStop employee leaked this information to kotaku, I have no idea where it's coming from. There's been no emails sent, nothing on our internal home page, no new posters, no memos, nothing, yet. I don't know what that picture is even of. Doesn't look familiar... There's still maybe a bit of hope.

EDIT: I just wanted to say, if I see anything, I'll let you guys know. Also, please don't hate me if it turns out to be true, I'm just communicating that so far, there has been no company wide communication. Thanks and hopefully this is all settled soon.

2nd EDIT: So, the reports are claiming its in the upcoming poster kit or what we call "marketing kit." We should get ours tomorrow. I'll let you guys know. But it's strange they would send a memo with a poster saying it's wrong. Why send the poster?

The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this.

However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.

After a short delay, No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12.
