london has fallen

a film which had some neat action sequences, but as a whole the film felt very.. unspecial.. unsatisfying.. unmemorable.. very by-the-numbers sequel.. and the rah rah america iz save teh wurld shit grated like no other, but i suppose it was a very cheesy movie anyway so i guess we can let it slide.

no where near as good as the first film (which i quite enjoyed)

also i enjoyed watching the french and german leaders die. that was a highlight.

----------

kill command, on the other hand, was a surprisingly enjoyable movie! Amazing visuals for a low budget brit film, decent acting, generic but interestingly told story, with decent action sequences... plus its kinda my fav genre (scifi with an isolated group of people dying Very Happy), so all in all i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nah, all the chav stuff (family & pub) in the beginning was actually the best, but I just love when moviemakers got to extremes (Movie 46, hotel room scene in Borat etc)

so basically the lower they aim, and the more childish and gutter-level they are, the cooler the movie is for you?

The movie itself is 6-7 to me, but I just applaude to the fact that they go that far (or rather low) with the gutter-level you mention. It's an experiment of some kind too, movie could've flopped easily because of it.

But wait, why am I even bothering to explain something to a hater... Rolling Eyes

The Brothers Grimsby - 5/10

Laughing cheapest and most vulgar humor in one place, writing and acting is soo bad. The ball sucking and elephant cuming maybe a bit too much.

X-Men: Apocalypse - 4/10

Hard to believe the only X-Men film that was planned in advance (it was announced before DoFP was even released) is one of the poorest.

The weak writing, the bizarre editing, the cheap effects, the flat characters that do nothing, the severe lack of noteworthy fights but in the final act, which is much better presented in the trailer anyway.. So many wrong choices and bad decisions.. What the hell.

With better editing to trim bad moments, I could see this being a 5/10 maybe, but higher than that... I don't think so.

Haha, sounds like my troubled X-journey will stop at the previous one (which I didn't like that much - as opposed to First Class which I found surprisingly decent despite my so-so relationship with the genre). Wouldn't want to replicate another Ultron scenario where after 15 minutes I had already shift-deleted everything xD

Really? I thought it felt like an extended version of the Rhino scene in Pet Detective 2.

The script was stupid. The pathos was beyond but the action was good and I wasn't expecting anything else.

All the Way - 8,5/10

The movie delivered, just as I expected, with high production values and solid acting as per HBO tradition, focusing on the human side of the president and his numerous struggles, flaws and accomplishments though complicated deals and some mistakes too. Bryan Cranston was admirable, such a great and believable performance, he completely nailed it. The movie also shows why it's so hard to be a moderator xD

There was also an easter egg near the end that made me smile Razz (not really a spoiler)

Prairie Fever -4/10. Crappy western movie with Kevin Sorbo and Lance Henriksen, the plot was kind of similar to The Homesman. Weird ending too...protagonist gets the girl even though he chickened out from saving her from the bad guy, and the bad guy was free to go on with his life.

This movie just came and hit me. Nice pacing and joke-serious shit balance.
I wouldn't have expected Clooney to do things he does in this movie. I guess he's also reached the point of not giving a fuck anymore Very Happy

I recommend.

I see you're on a roll with the DC animations Wink

Try Justice League: Gods and Monsters and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. I remember them to be quite decent.

Thanks for the suggestion. Very Happy

I plan to watch all "DCU Animated Original Movies" (the ones which started with Superman: Doomsday) anyway, I just had to read up on them and figure out the best way to group them.

For example I watched Wonder Woman before JL: The New Frontier because the first is her origin story, while the latter while being the first JL movie they made it doesn't include one (of course the continuities are different anyway) but the latter does contain Green Lantern's origin story which is mostly absent from Green Lantern: First Flight (and again it's a different continuity, still..), so that one had to come third. Next up is Green Lantern: Emerald Knights with a more experienced GL, and I'm done with the GL ones.

The 2 Superman/Batman ones I'll watch together, the Justice League: War and Son of Batman ones have several sequels in the same continuity so I'll group those together too.

I have written them down on paper and figured roughly the best way to group them but with what order I'll watch each group.. we'll see!

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker perhaps after I watch Batman Beyond.
