Medieval Lords brings city builders inside the walls of richly-detailed cities during the middle ages. Through the course of ten scenarios, players must manage finances, population, and food resources to evolve towns into thriving kingdoms. Build docks for fishing local waters, harvest fields to grow food and raise livestock, keep citizens healthy and entertained, and recruit soldiers and cavalry for a well-defended city.

Although it looks fantastic, it's actually rather boring, and the military aspects are terrible.

I read in a review there is a patch. I'm still waiting to finish it up before I give it a whirl. I heard the military aspect isn't great, but some reviewers say its not that big of a deal, while others take great issue with it.

Its a bit the opposite of stronghold I think. THe emphasis seems to be a lot more on economic than military. I'd really like a game that would combined the military of stronghold with the economic level of some of these other games, as well as a risk style of conquering. Knights of Honour is close, but the military isn't as good I find.
