I don't think so. They invested tons of hours improving BF4's netcode including the tick rate implementation etc. They definitely did it with the upcoming titles in mind.

Any news yet, if it will have a mode similar to the Commander Mode from BF4?
I enjoyed to play that mode once in a while.
There won't be a commander mode, I read.
Okay.
@deadpoetic
Many features in this game don't really make sense at second sight. For example everyone has access to automatic weapons, while they were just prototypes at that time.
I bet DICE would have found a reason to make Commander Mode somewhat plausible.

Those who played it said the automatic weapons are pretty bad, very inaccurate. Seems like DICE may make them a bit rubbish so that they wouldn't be the most used weapons.
looks decent, will wait for indian/mexican premium deluxe edition.
Uh you do realize that the prices for origin mexico and us are exactly the same?
Incorrect. While Origin's Mexico storefront bills in USD ($), the price is significantly discounted compared to buying off the US version of the store.

French forces will be premium DLC for Battlefield 1
Quote:
With France confined for the campaign, there was an inkling it might be redeployed to DLC at a later date. Those suspicions have been confirmed by DICE's Julien Wera, speaking to IGN France:
"To really do justice to the French army in multiplayer and, once again, to show a side that we're not used to seeing, we have chosen to dedicate an entire premium expansion with special treatment after the launch of the game."
That's a rough Google translation, but the meaning is clear.
What I find strange is the decision to structure Battlefield 1's DLC (because there was always going to be DLC) by army rather than by region or campaign. For example, the Brits will be duking it out over the French town of Amiens at launch.

Jesus that sniper vid, reminds me of how fast my reflexes were back in allied assault. I'm slow old and decrepit now.
Same here man.
I remember being rather good back then in UT1 in the instagib mode.
But nowadays my aim, at least in multiplayer games, keeps getting worse, while my raging for the better enemy players increases.
That dude in the video seems to be a pro-player though, who makes it look so easy.

Shooting in that assault video look meaty and satisfying.

There must be the inevitable catch that will ruin the fun in some way (EA, what are you up to!)...because so far I'm liking almost everything about it, which is highly worrisome.
The setting appeals to me more than the modern one, the visuals, the focus on destructibility like in the ol' BC2, and the map shown so far also seems big and open enough for proper-ish Conquestsauce (the way BF is meant to be played).
Patiently waiting for the beta with General Ackbar.
The zeppelin probably always falls only in one scripted spot on the map

It doesn't. It falls where it's shot down.
Indeed, I noticed that during the streaming the other day. Poor Snoop was so baked that he didn't even see the falling zeppelin and got killed by it xD

Battle Across Multiple Maps in Operations in Battlefield 1
Quote:
Typically, a round in a Battlefield game is completely contained to that one match. You play, you win or lose, and then you move on to the next round. That all changes in Operations, a new game mode coming to Battlefield 1. In it, the outcome of the current round carries over to the next map, giving you the opportunity to fight a sequence of inter-connected battles.
Operations offer epic journeys across several maps based upon real battles of World War I. We wanted to offer a large and epic experience with a focus on teamplay and frontline combat. Adding this meta-layer to the game mode, and stretching it across multiple interesting locations that both look and play very differently, adds a whole new layer of scale and variety to the battles in Battlefield 1. Your team can win on one map, proceed to the next map, and actually see the map you previously fought over on the horizon.
As an attacker you’ll hear the commanding officer’s whistle as the order to charge the enemy trench is given. You’ll run side-by-side with your teammates as you storm towards the enemy defensive positions on foot, in tanks, airplanes, boats, and on horseback. As a defender, you’ll dig down as you hear the alarm go off signaling an incoming attack. You’ll man the stationary machine-guns and cannons to aid you as you rain hell on the advancing enemy attackers.
The attackers must capture and hold all defensive positions in order to capture the sector that is being fought over. Once this is done, the defenders will fall back to the next sector and regroup. The pacing and variety between the different sectors vary widely, since each sector offers a different amount of objectives to capture and defend as well as varied layouts and choke points.
The attackers must take territory and push the frontline forward, while the defenders are trying to hold the line. Should the defenders fail to hold their ground on a map, the Operation doesn’t stop here: they will fall back and regroup on a different map, while the attackers will continue to push. Sectors may fall, but players reinforced by gigantic Behemoths can still turn the tide.
We wanted to create a Battlefield experience that was not just bite-sized, but actually spanned beyond an hour of playtime. Something epic and compelling for players who wanted a chance to immerse themselves in this first global war, and capture the stories of how different battles were deeply connected to one another. This kind of frontline combat really captures the essence of WWI clashes, intimate and deeply rooted in breaking through or holding ground.
Here is hope that it is similar to that mode in Red Orchestra 2.
- The attackers vote which zone they attack next, after they won.
- If the defenders won, they become the attackers and vote next zone.
- Remaining reinforcements of each team carry over to new maps.
- The team which conquers the whole map first wins.
