I remember how I bought my Radeon 6870. I walked in a store on release day and purchased it for MSRP.
Back then there was competition.
War has changed.
Yeah. But what are we gonna do about it? I'm certainly not going out and start buying inferior cards just to get the competition on track again. That's just silly.

I don't understand how people can buy that crap from NVidia even with all the shit they do. Like they can pull off any kind of shit they want and fanbois will still buy their overpriced cards regardless.

Or maybe there is no competition? if you want a high end card you have to get nvidia, until amd pull their thumbs out their arses.
im not a fan boy in the slightest, my last purchase was nvidia and its a 670, the one before that was a AMD/ATI card i cant remember what it was but it ran hot, it was reaching 90 degrees under full load which kind of put me off, but if amd was to bring out a card that rivaled the 1070 for a better price then i would go AMD again.
I want to upgrade sometime this winter, but I'm really considering getting AMD instead this time.
The reason is not only Nvidia's prices but mainly the new consoles in 2017.
The Scorpio is going to have 6 TFlops, I'm afraid when it comes out and the game optimization will be as lazy as it was the previous years it will render both the R9 480 and the more powerful GTX 1070 outdated when the console releases.
And I tend to keep a GPU for at least 2 years, so until end of 2018.
Then I'd rather have sunk less money in the R9. At least I'll stay with 1080p for a while, that should give me some air to breathe.
Well I have a couple of months left to decide, maybe the competition will cause prices to drop further.
MSI 1070 Gaming 597 dolars
Asus 1070 Strix 636 dolars
I know our zloty compared to dolar is worth as much as toilet paper and those are "we will fuck you up cause we can" prices after launch but still this shit is retarded.
btw. I bought another 8gb of ram to have dual channel after seeing this I know its in our kurwa language but there are charts in this clip easily understandable, guy compared single channel to dual and performance boost was quite shocking to me
People just prefer Nvidia regardless. It's their choice.
The 390 runs fine for a minute or two, then it starts to throttle because it can't handle it's own stock speeds.
Wrong.
I suspect troll post.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
