Im pretty sure RX480 will not change the prices of 1070, since it is guaranteed to be much slower card. Ofcourse prices will settle down a bit, but Nvidia has no reason to cut their prices.

Indeed, the 480 will not even try to compete with 1070, so the prices will probably stay the same.

where are you even seeing third party 1070 here in croatiastan?

all i see is overpriced 610-650 euro FE cards.

So far there is ZOTAC 1070 AMP and AMP Extreme, MSI Gaming X and few others.

https://svijet-medija.hr/artikls/gtx%201070?sort_by=custom_price_sort&sort_order=DESC&items_per_page=16

For example, Zotac 1070 AMP Extreme goes for cca 700 euros. What the hell is going on with these prices?

yeah, those guys had an FE card listed on nabava.net for 4099kn which is what 600 euro? even that was expensive, now it disappeared from there and they are offering these 650-710 euro 1070's. Laughing

and they are all just a price, it says not available. they are just price gouging before even having stock.

what a shithole we live in wow. a 1080 is cheaper in the states than a 1070 for us.

On another forum they say he got a message on his phone, told to stop leaking NDA info. Wink

Of course the prices for 4Gb version will be under 300 easily, but 8GB version(especially custom cards) might go little over 300 euros in certain countries(like in my shitty country Sad ).

Laughing if the price is not below 300€ then what's the point, really?

480 8GB is to be expected to be around 250€:

http://www.computerbase.de/2016-06/amd-polaris-preis-rx-480-470-460/

It's from the website of a company that sells custom PCs.
Probably will cost less than 250€ if you compare their prices with the one from Geizhals:
MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G: 575€ (They) vs 489€ (Geizhals)

Yea, read that one a few minutes after the OC one Smile

And, a guy spotted a 480 priced at 2900 NOK at advance.no a few days ago, pretty damn close to 350€ >_>

edit, I used $ rate instead of €, should be 310.. Razz

Afaik, the prices for 980, 980 Ti, 970, 960 already dropped according to an article I read[1].

They were not dropped in price.

Manufacturers are temporarily getting rebates (until mid July) from Nvidia to try and get rid of old stock; after that you'll probably see prices go back up again because they'll still have stock Wink

Why?

$199 = €175. Add VAT, Hungary's 27% would put it at €222.
$229 = €202. Add VAT, Hungary's 27% would put it at €256.

AMD is not Nvidia. 4870, 5870, 6970 and 7970 all got proper € MSRP conversions for the exchange rate at the time (in fact, 5870 was a bit under that rate), it's just that we get to pay VAT which makes it more expensive if you then convert the final € price back to $. And in some countries, like Norway or Finland, shops just like to carve out a kidney out of their customers too Laughing

But in the rest of Europe, €230 and €260 is not far fetched *at all*. Looking at AMD's history, that's perfectly plausible.

Voided warranty here I come!
The eye stabbing green logo is killing me on mine. A black/red case with a neon green geforce logo need to go Neutral

You can't be serious. Just put a black sticker over it. Voiding your warranty for an unimportant reason like that is just dumb. But it's your choice in the end. I had a similar problem with my speakers having a BRIGHT blue led. Just stuck a piece of chewin gum over it and that was done. Ghetto mods FTW.

Not going for the fancy painting of it, just getting the green off.

I mean I already have a case with a window, LED RGB strips for lighting, lighted fans. taping over the light on the card seems like I'd be taking the easy way out Smile

Not easy, the SENSIBLE way. Warranty, remember? 600 bucks down the drain if something goes wrong. :/

I'm sure I can handle it. Worked for years in a machining shop, and started (but never finished) school for electronics, so its just some screws and a shroud. Not like I'm trying to re-flow the chip or anything.
I mean eventually when the water blocks for the FE edition come down in price I will need to tear all that off to add the block anyway if I get one.

normally i won't let the pc run at night and so i don't mind if it blinks all day. actually at day times i like it.
but yesterday i had some downloads and let the pc run. light/monitor/tv etc was turned off already and i was laying in bed and saw it blinking. didn't wanted to open the case and unplug it so i just put the boxershorts over it. was much quicker and faster back in bed. Very Happy
a on/off button would be nice though.

also i had nothing to smoke. if i do it can blink like a fucking stroboscope. i still can sleep. but not like this, if im sober Very Happy
