Who would be dumb enough to buy a 1060 in sli when you can have the 1080 for that money, at least according to your price suggestion
same ppl who bought 970 sli instead of 980 ti
sli is a mess to deal with to begin with, i'll never get an sli setup for that reason alone
980 ti was around 700 in january, 970 was 370, i know ppl who still got 970 sli
Yes it might suffer from early Alzheimer in the memory department, and yes it might end up getting stabbed in the back by the green-ish Frankestein creator like its older brother, but it's a strong respectable card that don't need no pity!
lol i was testing 780 the other day and it lost around 20 fps in 5 games since 2015
official release date is may 2013
basically every game it had 60 fps in is now 40

AMD certified PCI-E slots ... Man AMD has fucked up really bad this time
Took them long enough to start killing shit, finally taking some lessons from Nvidia it seems
Hopefully they are now wiser and actually produce shit instead of breaking it so we can start having real cards in the future rather than being stuck with the nazis of green camp.
there was an issue when pciex slots were breaking down from heavy cards if pc is moved or transported
these are just reinforced pciex slots, not gonna help against fry fry
Small question: overclocking vram (i've never done it b4 since it usually doesn't net that big of an increase in peformance, apparently it does something though as i gain around 5 fps in unigine heaven (105 instead of 99) with +400mhz.
Can it damage the memory? I see no artifacts yet, haven't pushed it further until it would artifact, but yeah .. just wondering if it's ok as long as it doesn't do anything bad.

ehhh overclocking in general is actually "bad", because you going over the limit that chip was designed to function stable
but yeah 5 fps totally worth it

I dont really care if it shortens the lifespan from 6 years to 4 years for example. I'll replace the gpu in 2 years anyway.
Plus as far as i understood, pascal has several protections in place (for clock at least) so the gpu auto-clocks itself depending on limitations, also instant recovery after driver crash from too high oc etc.
