Look, honestly I don't follow on what goes on in twitter and who says or does what. All I get are tidbits now and then and honestly, there are complete douche-bags on both sides of the coin. And in my opinion they _should_ start banning people who are toxic on there or at the very least set up clear guidelines and uphold them.
Personally, I don't care about Milo nor twitter as I've seen it since it started as the dumbest thing ever where in 140 characters (or less) you can say random shit. Then it turned from speaking your mind into let's harass other users because we don't like them.
And to go back to my earlier comment, good luck to wikileaks with their twitter-like "free speech" whatever-the-fuck-they're-gonna-call-it.

How is this not World News? Milo is a very famous journalist that has appeared everywhere from major TV channels to all kinds of liberal and conservative shows. This also involves the black actress from Ghostbusters, which is a mainstream film.
And I have seen several articles about this even in my country's local media, his wikipedia page is updated with info about this, there are articles about it on everything from the Guardian, to Buzzfeed, to the Verge, everywhere. People with hundreds of thousands of subscribers released reaction videos immediately, I posted 2 of them in the original post.
But this is not World News worthy for the fucking Hump? In my opinion this is just another example of the moderation on this board judging everything subjectively according to their preconceptions. This isn't a way to moderate a public forum, if you aren't up to it, resign from modding please.

But was it really? Was it really once anything else than it is today? It was and still is a total waste of time and energy (even more so than instagram). The only reason I even was on there once was because the DICE used that shitty platform to announce patches instead of their own website.

Twitter is much more than just some publicity stunt by a company to reach hundreds of its followers.
Twitter once was a bastion of free speech. You didn't agree with what Obama said, good. You were allowed to voice it. You didn't like how the black on black violence is getting out of hand and you used racial epitaphs to state your opinion, good you were allowed a voice. Many people would disagree with you calling the vile criminals niggers but guess what, there was a handful of those who looked pass your racism and agreed with your point.
Twitter was a debate platform. It gave a voice to those without one. It provided people the ability to communicate their ideas with the world and engage in wide array of conversations.
Just because you see it as a waste, doesn't mean it is.
But now, Twitter is going through a phase, much like many SoCal sites, and it's slowly dying. Safe Space isn't working, and now it is too late. It is ok for a feminazis to call men dicks, assholes, rapists without a shred of evidence. It's not ok for men to do the same to women.
It's not longer a platform to debate on, it's now a platform you either agree with or you get banned.
Wikileaks were treated with respect, until they provided the wrong think.
So please, unless you realize what twitter is turning to - what it once was - what it could have become - and not just a shitty platform your shitty dev chose to advertise their shitty product on - then you can state your opinions. Until then you have NO IDEA what you're talking about.
There's also the other side of the coin... the ones who agree with what twitter is becoming. It's becoming a safer space, a space where everyone has the same ideologies, the same principles, the same teachers in college, the same hair colour. It's becoming a place where trans-pedophiles are treated with more respect than those cis-het ones. It's a place where doxing a man, who just said he disagreed with your opinion, is praised. it's becoming a commune. People are happy - at least those who toe the line.
Twitter changed. A once shitty platform to allow people of many ethnicities, religions to communicate with one another (wether through good / bad / nasty / or civil discussions) has now become a shitty platform where you're either in or you're the most evil, the worst scumbag on the face of the planet.

This is probably one of the reasons I have never seeing a real debate on Twitter since it's inception, it was shit and still is shit, nothing of value was lost.

Milo would do no such thing from what I have seen of him. So your example is bad. And a little mob causing some twitter grief towards the shitty Ghostbusters movie was something bound to happen anyway.
You should watch some of his interviews, if you haven't. I don't like attention whores or trolls. I hated the shit Charlie Hebdo (sp?) were/are doing, for example. That is just instigating hate. But Milo isn't like that IMO.
