Who cares if it's from nothing. Expect it to be true, or you'll end up being disappointed, and how good isn't it if it's not true?!
ive been saying for ages i think its going to get repetitive incredibly quickly and i dont think it'll have any depth to it, but i know ill be pirating it to try it out anyway... i mean it still LOOKS interesting for about an hours worth of dicking around.
and who knows.. maybe it WILL actually interest me. it wouldnt be the first game id written of only to try it and realise its really enjoyable.

iirc UK is not counted as Europe(Aug 10), but as rest of the world (Aug 12)
I still remember some delay announcment about NA Aug9 , EU Aug10 and UK+RoW Aug12 , but maybe I miusremembered something (but I am pretty sure that Aug12 date was on UK store since the may delay)
EDIT: found it aka the old delay
Quote:
No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12.
@lolita: well with their weird wording on official page, it would also mean there is no PS4 release outside NA and Europe
and we know that JPN PS4 date is Aug25
If the delay is right, it's not like the PC release is months or even weeks later .. does it REALLY matter to people so much these extra 3 days? I mean, come on - whether the game is a pile of shit or decent it's not going to kill anyone to wait 72 whole hours more.
Funny part is if the game is piss poor, this whole thing will be buried and forgotten in a months time. I'm reserving judgement for now. I agree it will get boring/repetitive, question is after how long. If I get a couple of weeks solid play or more out of it then who cares. Move onto the next game like we always do.
In fact, this whole 9th/12th date might be academic - I'm sure there's a disc release somewhere for the PC, so we could be 'enjoying' this game or not much earlier anyway
From everything (or nothing) i've seen i think it will fail. It will sale big time, but gameplay wise it will fail. That's just my opinion.
They didn't show anything except that roaming on planet and very short clips from other parts of the game. So they hide things and when someone is hiding something it usually means it's bad. Why not go all out and show what the game has to offer?
I want it to succeed, but doubt it will. We are very short on space exploration games, especially the ones with a story and some higher goals than grinding for better ships
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D + be quiet! Dark Rock 4 | KFA2 RTX 4080 | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 @3600MHz | Samsung 860 Evo 500GB + 1TB + 10TB WD Blue | Corsair RM750x | LG 27GL83A + LG 27GL850 | Fractal Define R6 | Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth | DeathAdder Chroma
The Game is so polarised at this point. The lack of any real information (except for the same few clips of the same few planets) means its either so shit that they don't want to expose it, or its so fucking brilliant that they don't want to spoil it.
There's no base building, no MP to speak of really, you collect elements and name creatures it seems, terraforming planets is cool but vanishes if you leave and come back.
It's so bafflingly mysterious that I suppose that is what it has going for it.
