some other things you should know about this Drivespeed method. Once you are done playing the game and exit out, in order to play the game again you must exit Drivespeed, unmount the image in DT4, then mount the image again, start the game, run Drivespeed again and do it like you did the first time. So, you need to close Drivespeed and unmount then start all over in order to get it to work again,

Just to clarify some things:
By DT4, you guys mean Daemon Tools 4.00, right?
And what emulations options do you need on (if you are talking about Daemon Tools 4.00)
I unplugged the power cables on the drives (not the IDE cable), and tried this "click back and forth" on the taskbar method between the game and Nero Drive speed, and I still get the message "Not a licensed disk" or something like that.
I burned and installed the game per the NFO's instructions, and that doesn't work either.

you don't click back and forth between the game and nero drivespeed you click 'silent" and "fast" in the drive speed window back and forth. I assume this is supposed to confuse starforce.

Ahh ok, let me try that...
EDIT:
I was using the wrong nero program before. I was using CD-DVD Speed, and not Drive-Speed. Thats why I didnt understand the instructions before (there are no silent and fast buttons in that program)
However, it still did not work. Says "failed to identify a licesed disc". WHat options in Daemon Tools 4.0 need to be enabled? I have tried it with all, and with no, options enabled.

Well since you misread two things its obvious you have comprhension issues here
1. mount image in DT4 all options enabled, use disc 3.
2. click on desktop shortcut to start game.
3. open Drivespeed while the game is verifying the disk
4. click back and forth to silent and fast, make sure the CD drive selected in the drop down box is the DT drive not any other drives
Then the game will start after doing it for a while it can take a minute sometimes. After playing the game you need to unmount the image and exit out of drivespeed in order to play the game again, start from step 1 when you want to play the game again.
You also should have your CD drive unplugged from the motherboard, the power and the IDE cable, or some other method like SFN to disable the CD-ROM

Drownage:
Thank you for your help, it actually worked this time. I had to do a couple of thigs.
Drownage's drive-speed method worked for me, however, my problems were this (hope this helps someone)
Initially, I burned the 3 CDs following original NFO instructions, patching the 3rd disc image, and using a specific CD-R type, etc. I did this because I dont feel like having to unplug drives to play a freaking game. I'd rather burn and use CDs than do that. So, I installed the game physically from the CDs.
However, to get the Drownage method to work, I had to uninstall the game, and then reinstall it from mounted images, and not from the physical CDs like I did the frist time
And, like he said, I had unplug the IDE ribbon cable from the mobo, and not just my CD/DVD drives power plug.
Now to see if this game actually sucks or not...
Again man, thanks.

I tried this with sfn, and I must say, I don't see how you can start drivespeed fast enough to load it and flip it after starting the game itself. Does it verify slower with the drives actually unplugged? as it is now, you've maybe got 3 seconds to do it in before it fails.

WTF are you talking about? it takes 5 minutes before it fails. you must be using the wrong image LMAO! Its CD3. And you DONT open Drivespeed until AFTER its already started verifying. If yours fails after a few seconds you are either using the wrong disc or you have some other serious issues. It takes A LONG TIME TO FAIL.

Drownage:
Again, thanks for the pointing out the drive-speed hack. It worked for me too, eventually.
HOWVER, having said that...
The game does pretty much suck. I really liked Silent Storm. This game just missed the mark. Uninstalling now...

I am using CD3 and it zips through the check extremely quick (with SFN). I haven't unplugged yet to see if there is a difference.
Are you using a patched image, of the unpatched image?
Starforce normally takes a long time to fail fo rme. I suspect this version must be seeing right through SFN and failing quickly.

The first mission is pretty hard. You kill the 5 soldiers and then 10 more come.
I played it with a stealth dude which was able to kill m pretty easy, as he already has a silenced smg. The soldier dude however only gets a pistol from the beginning :s
O yeah, and whats up with the stealth, u can't hide anymore even when u are under a tree in the shadows. The button just keeps greyed out.

Plumber:
No, the game sucks (in my opinion anyway)
It was released after Silent Storm, yet it feels like a much older product. Sloppy, buggy, and all in all, just not that fun. It could have been a great game, but missed the mark.

I can't believe it's so short. 5 or 6 missions.
I gotta install SS Sentinels and blast away some enemies, just as i thought the game begins for real ... *cue* END CREDITS

Ok, I think I should clarify a bit here.
First of all H&S is not an add-on to SS. It's based on the same story, same engine, same gfx etc but it has an absolutely new gameplay. Which is TOTAL non-linearity. The game can be 5 missions, 3 missions or 25 missions. And it's NOT random encounters. It's storyline missions.
Let me give you an example. First mission. You kill the firing squad that executes them guerillas. Then, you snoop around, talk to the doctor. U take the wounded woman and bring her in the house, put her on the couch. Talk to the doctor, for $500 he starts healing her. You talk to the guy in the garage, Konrad. He becomes an ally too. You take rifles from the dead soldiers, take out clips, put the rifles back. Talk to the locals and they'll arm themselves with those rifles (they got their own ammo). By the time enemies arrive you have the woman as your sniper on your team and locals with guns. You fend off the attack easily.
Now I explain what is so amazing about what you just did. You could leave the woman there and she'd die in a coupla hours. You loose 30% of the story! BUT you continue the game! You get one of the 4 alternative endings. You can kill Konrad in the garage, get a weapon and loose another 10-15% (nobody knows how much) of the story. You kill Konrad, his wife Martha will attack you and you'll need her to forge documents so you automatically loose that part of the story
That's right, EVERY NPC can unfold some more of the story. Your actions can unfold more of the story. There are non linear parts. You can save some guy from a prison or let him die there. You can get a mission for stealing explosives from one guy and sell it to another. One helps you get weapons, the other provides vital info or IDs. You choose what you need more.
You have to gain TRUST of your team to advance. The guy can be on your team but he's there like a mercenary, not a friend. In order to make friends with him and get storyling progress thanks to him u first need to gain his trust, by your actions or completing a mission that will show you as his friend or smthg. And there's no numbers or stats for that (90% trust gain or smthg like that). It's purely psychological. All the mechanics are hidden within the game and you rely on your own views. For example you talk bad about Jews you loose the trust of the Jewish guy etc.
This game is AMAZING. Even Fallout was more linear than this. Even Gothic is more linear. In those two if you failed or ignored a mission, you just didn't get XP or stuff. Here every action steers the storyline in different directions. And the game is SO fucking long if you do it the right way!
P.S. It got 95-99% in local reviews, more than SS itself. It's not a game for tactics strategy fans, but rather for RPG and even quest fans.

Peanut Butter Wolf: As you seem to know alot about the game could you please give me some tips on how to get the most out of the storyline (=most number of missions)?
See below what my last game was like:
Spoiler: | When I played for the first time I accepted Sanders into my squad. Took Conrads Mission. Killed his enemies. Had a meeting with the local crime boss (and bribed him with 50% from the convoy raid). Raided the convoy. Killed the assasins and then the US reinforcements (after Sanders leaves). Freed Fidel (walked into prison with allied uniforms) and fought my way out. So far so good. But after freeing Fidel my squad basically dissolves. Fidel leaves (says he waits at the foresters). Sanders either leaves - is tied up or I shoot her. Then I get an almost impossible mission where I am together with the ?russian? sabotage squad and then the final mission for me in which I kill the guards and the reinforcements of a bridge.
But then I get the ending with World War 3.
So what should I do different to actually get at those who guys in the strange uniforms and achieve a "happy end"?

The game IS bad. Really, really bad. Nonlinearity is great, but you have to explain the rules to player first, not keep him (or her) guessing. When players are confused, it's just an example of bad game design. Fallout was in completely different league. The basic choices were always obvious (or at least it was always obvious that you're making a choice). In H&S after killing first few guys I don't really know what to do and I don't know which actions will affect the flow of the game. There is difference between nonlinearity and a pure mess. H&S is a pure mess.

at the begining you got grenade dont you?
throw it into those 5 soldiers 3 will die or if u r lucky 4
kill last one (burst mode) dont forget to lie
than go to garage (at least something like it) kil that guy using knife take a machine gun from a locker go to guy in next bulding talk with him civilians will help you a lot they will kill about 3-4 soldiers and if u got nice spot u will get by without any life damage
they didnt hit me in 1st mission
now im on in W... (city) those soldiers got sux respawns ! always not there where i set traps ;|
i cant stop laugh when im reading -TNT nfo's they act like a leaders and do cd-checks !
