Do your research on the PSU carefully.
Not a good idea to have a ton of money riding on some crap PSU, look into some seasonic, antec and rosewill units first

16GB of RAM is barely enough
when I play Doom I have to close Chrome else I reach max..

Attention whores aside, most of the fanned quality PSU's from those 3 brands are relatively silent.
Check/post what's available on the store you're going to buy it from so we can have a better idea

Or compare features at same price point, then check for reviews for the one that interests you the most.
In my case for the same price as other brands (other that asus and their usually overpriced BS that is...) I found that gigabyte had some advantages: dual bios, had crossfire AND SLI support as opposed to the other brands and a slightly better sound chip.
Apparently it also consumes a bit more power than the competition (from 8 to 20 Watts, oh noes ) but I can live with that

If you want cheap and top notch PSU, get EVGA G2 series, 550W G2 will run your system even if you would OC it to the max without any problems. Has also 7 year warranty and is a fully modular, absolutely fantastic PSU lineup.

I would go with the 6700k, i know a lot of people will tell you that games nowadays dont really require it, but it has been tested, in games like gtav or the witcher 3, you will benefit greatly from a 6700k, especialy if your aiming at more than 60fps at ultra settings (wich i am not, and i still got a 6700k)
I was debating this myself with a couple of humpers a few weeks back when i was going from a 4460 to a 6700k and a 760 to a 1070 and i have come to the conclusion after many benchmarks and videos that although it is still not a standard, some games are fully utilizing all the cores when it comes to a i7, and more will proly be going to in the future, assuming we wont have many crap ports, and even than, u will proly drill throught them with ease with a 6700k, some i5 are really hiting that 90%/100% usage on some games atm, not many, but a few..
If you like me play all types of games, cpu intensive games can really push an i5 and can bottleneck you, especialy if you will go for a high hz monitor.. wich i dont have atm.

You conviced me I just needed a push haha
It only costs me a bit more, I am getting amazing discount already.
Gonna buy all this stuff (including the i7 6700K instead of i5) for 750 euro so I could not resist and needed an total upgrade anyway.

Glad i could be of help, i was in the same boat, i battled throught it and it wasnt easy but its worth it, in a couple of years when the next witcher or gta (open world game) comes out, you will be using those cores fully, im pretty sure, and some i5's wont hold those 60 fps imo, but i could be wrong ! I hope im not though !
Congratz on the upgrade, it feels good to buy new hardware

Might as well post this here, no need for a new thread.
Here's what I had in mind for my first ever fully-from-scratch build (only had to replace a couple little things in older rigs before).
CPU
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
$227.99
Seemed like a decent pairing for the 1070. Plus it can be OCd if need be.
CPU Cooler
Noctua NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler
$38.88
Just something relatively cheap, until I need something beefier.
Motherboard
MSI B150I GAMING PRO AC Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
$106.99
No idea if this is a good one or not. Has the slots I need, everything else is . Size restrictions obviously narrowed my options.
Memory
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
$79.88
No idea if memory speed is really that big a factor, and what I heard were wildly inconsistent, so I just went with the middle road on this component.
Storage
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
$99.88
Boot drive and games that benefit from SSDs.
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
$48.71
Mass storage.
Video Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card
$409.99
Seemed like the one to go with, if I don't give a rat's ass about 4k, but can be persuaded to get a 1440p monitor later.
Case
Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case
$84.99
Because room is an important factor in my living arrangement, and reviews of this one were quite favorable, and vids of it showed it to be relatively easy to get around in. Not very flashy, but still have a small window on the top, in case I ever get showy. Plus it comes with filters already included.
Power Supply
EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
$42.99
Here I was totally lost. Pcpartpicker gave me a 350-ish wattage on the whole thing, so 500W seemed like more than enough head room for it. I can only assume pcpartpicker was smart enough to check for size compatibility.
Should come out at around $1100, which means I'll have to wait a couple months more to have enough money to start ordering them, but I though I'd ask for a bit of help.
Any input is welcome. The only thing I don't want to compromise on are the price-range, the case size, the 16 GB RAM and the GTX 1070 (switching models is fine tho).

Eeeeeeh get a better PSU.
That one is not as bad as most generic 500W crapzorz out there but you should always invest in a good quality brand PSU (not necessarily on one with higher wattage).
Search for antec, seasonic, enermax, silverstone or rosewill ones and get one of those, even if you have to spend a bit more. Remember, it's "just" one of the most important parts of your system after all

Either one is just fine, the second is a bit more expensive since it's modular (a bit less hassle than a fully wired one) but the first is just as good
EDIT: No wait, saw that bass ackwards
Second model is more expensive since it's more effective, meaning that you'll end up having a slightly more powerful 550W PSU drawing less energy than the 520W one.
Might as well as go for the gold, it will pay itself after a while

What's the point in getting an unlocked CPU with a non-Z motherboard?
