XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year. Earth has changed and is now under alien rule. Facing impossible odds you must rebuild XCOM, and ignite a global resistance to reclaim our world and save humanity.
Features:
XCOM ON THE RUN: Take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM’s mobile headquarters. New open-ended gameplay lets you decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support, and when to combat enemy counter-operations.
RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree, let you create specific soldiers for your tactical plan.
TACTICAL GUERRILLA COMBAT: New gameplay systems offer more tactical flexibility in combat. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols. Loot enemies for precious gear and artefacts. Rescue VIPs and save fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point.
A NEW BREED OF ENEMY: A diverse cast of enemies from powerful new alien species to the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime, offer a distinct tactical challenge.
RESEARCH, DEVELOP AND UPGRADE: Configure and build rooms on the Avenger to give XCOM new capabilities on the battlefield. Use your Scientists and Engineers to research, develop and upgrade weapons and armor to fit your preferred tactics.
EACH MISSION IS A UNIQUE CHALLENGE: Go on missions around the world, from wildlands to the heart of the alien-controlled megacities, to the depths of alien installations. There are virtually infinite combinations of maps, missions and goals.
ENGAGE IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MULTIPLAYER: Mix-and-match squads of humans and aliens and battle head-to-head on randomly-generated maps.
Sorry for the delayed response. Played the game last night for about 3 hours. I don't know if these games are hard or I've always sucked at them but I don't have much success with making it through missions without dead soldiers lol.
I often failed the first few missions but don't mind replaying them and taking a different approach. Due to the turn based play and the stats involved the outcome is rarely predictable and replaying missions doesn't always feel too repetitive.
The game itself is very much the same as the first one I played on PS3 but with an upgrade in every respect with additional features I don't recall like hacking and finding loot on the battlefield. It looks and plays great which makes the cinematic action angles look even greater! Although these games have never really been about the visuals they are pretty good.
There also seems to be way more story this time round and a time limit in the way of requiring missions to be completed within a specific amount of moves. I didn't actually finish the first XCOM game but it seems to pick up following the events from where it left off.
Not sure I like the idea of the base being mobile and able to fly but it is what it is and was probably added to make the game different to the first one.
One gripe I have is the text in the game that I can't manually scroll through?! I mean it auto scrolls and if you don't read it quick enough, you have to then wait for it to fade out and back in and then start scrolling down again. I'm hoping that's not the case and I just don't know how to manually scroll. I'm pretty sure it is though as I pressed every button and stick on the controller. But if it's not, then what the hell?!
Load times could be better also but I can live with that and maybe it will be patched at a later date.
So far I'm not overly disappointed and have all the base and research to complete which should hopefully improve my chances against the aliens especially those fucking psionic sectoid bastards that cause everyone to panic lol.

This game is tough! I played it through on Veteran which I assumed to be 'normal' played through the whole game, failed miserably lost about 40 soldiers, watched the aliens win and the credits roll.
I then tried rookie difficulty and although easier Im still being given an overwhelming challenge. Theres just so much pressure to make the right decisions and win the skirmishes. I hate the timed missions and the Avatar project which is basically the game timer!
I did think it was me and I just suck at it but the game just doesnt feel fair at all lol.
I think the PC version suffered from a similar issue as I found many articles via Google.
