TBH why is this discussion not in the Denuvo thread instead?

There is nothing released yet, besides some teasers/fakes.

I don't really care about crack as I alreay have all denuvo games bought Laughing But still I am very much interested to see if the possible crack will truly remove the protection. If so, it'd be interesting to see a benchmark comparing Denuvo protected exe vs. unprotected.

Indeed. It wasn't reported so I thought there was just normal talk here, boy I was wrong. Dude Sad
JackQ, we gave you not one, but two specific threads for this sort of drama, in order to leave the gaming threads alone with the spam, but it seems that the message wasn't received.

Unless there's a working, released way to play the game, be it Rise.Of.The.Tomb.Raidhurr-*insert your favourite group here* or whatever ghetto repack method floats the internet's pirate boat, don't post anything here in the PC Arena.

This 'underground' talk and attention whoring is just redundant, keep that confined to the dedicated thread (if you really have to, don't). We'll all be happy pandas if a bypass gets released eventually (the sooner the better of course), but as of now there's just teasing and that's tiring.
*Squeaking sound of leather whips getting prepped*

edit: Not one word about the D until any game really gets cracked. It spawns endless discussions and everyone feels entitled to comment about JackQ or his posts and the legitimacy thereof until the thread is finally derailed. There are topics dedicated to Denuvo. Use those.

[07-08-2016] PC Patch notes for patch 1.0.668.0 (Patch #7)
http://steamcommunity.com/app/391220/discussions/0/358417008720278827/
Quote:
This patch includes the following improvements:

Adds DirectX12 Multi-GPU support. Many of you have requested this, so DirectX 12 now supports NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX configurations.
The benefits of DirectX 12 are still the same, but now you are less likely to be GPU bottlenecked and can reach higher framerates due to the improved CPU utilization DirectX 12 offers.
Adds utilization of DirectX 12 Asynchronous Compute, on AMD GCN 1.1 GPUs and NVIDIA Pascal-based GPUs, for improved GPU performance.
On the latest Windows 10 version, V-sync can now be disabled (Windows Store version), and behavior of disabled V-sync has been improved (Steam version).
Improvements to stereoscopic 3D rendering, including fixes for NIVIDA Surround and AMD Eyefinity in combination with stereoscopic 3D.
Improved default settings for certain integrated GPUs.
Removes the Voidhammer Shotgun for users that do not have Cold Darkness Awakens DLC or have not yet unlocked it by rescuing prisoners in Cold Darkness Awakens.
A fix for a save issue where some game state could get lost in very rare circumstances.
This patch force-disables the Steam Overlay when using DirectX 12. This is due to stability issues with the Steam Overlay in combination with DirectX 12.
A fix for crashes with VXAO enabled on NVIDIA GTX1080 cards.
A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks

TLDR: They Added AsyncCompute shaders and DX12 SLI/CrossFire Support

I seriously doubt it's gonna make any difference...Oh, wait... It will lower your fps for sure (same as their "dx12") Laughing

The patch finally hit the Windows Store. Here are my tests with the benchmarks on a R9 390, all tests done using the same settings:

Pre-patch DX11:
Zone 1: 81
Zone 2: 59
Zone 3: 51
Average: 64

Post-patch DX11:
Z1: 82
Z2: 60
Z3: 53
Average: 65

No real changes in DX11. Important to note that the minimum FPS in Zone 2 and 3 is around 7 fps.

Pre-Patch DX12:
DX12
Z1: 78
Z2: 59
Z3: 60
Average: 66

Post-Patch DX12:
Z1: 85.5
Z2: 68
Z3: 64.5
Average: 72

Minimum FPS in Z2 and Z3 went up to 26fps. DX11 has 89% the performance of DX12 based on the benchmark. That's a nice boost, it's like getting a free upgrade to the 390X or getting a good overclock in. The increase in minimum FPS is very nice, as it made no sense for the game to fall to 7fps.

It's been very consistent for me, the first 3 were all similar (64, 65, 66), only the new DX12 was different (72).
I tried again, DX11 scored 65 again and DX12 scored 73 instead of 72.

Possible the benchmark also got more consistent with the patches/optimizations they added. I know Geothermal Valley got better over time, as it was kind of... Stupid before.

Since I was testing stuff anyway, I wanted to try VSR to play the game at 1440p but... Looks like this game doesn't support it. I tried SSAAx2 instead and the average FPS went down from 72 to 50, which isn't so bad. Minimum FPS was still in the 20s, which means the minimum FPS didn't actually go down. The rest did.

New DLCs announced to coincide with PS4's 20th anniversary edition's launch on October 11
Quote:
The headline addition is a new story chapter, 'Blood Ties' – which will be playable using VR if you so choose. "When Lara's uncle contests ownership of the Manor, Lara must explore the estate to find proof that she is the rightful heir, or lose her birthright and father's secrets for good," the press release reads. An extra mode named 'Lara's Nightmare' will then see you defending the mansion from zombies.

There's more: you'll get all of the previously released DLC out of the box, as well a new co-op mode named Endurance. "Two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night. Fire takes fuel, food restores health, and every resource must be hunted, collected, or crafted. Battle to the top of the leaderboards, as others try to beat your longest survival run."
Coming for free to owners of Season pass

he did not "Cracked" the game... he bypassed it using doom's demo... big difference.... and its not going to work forever it will stop working soon

a proper crack will not require internet connection or steam to be running... this is not a proper crack

Is starting it once enough to complete it? Or do you need to reactivate it periodically? I don't have much game time, so I can't play non-stop to complete it before it gets blocked or something.

I think RoTR activates for a week/per activation, so probably because you can complete the game in 12 hours.
