Wel I'd imagine if single player the lawyers would have shut it down. Being free and mp is likely the only way they could keep the project alive...

afaik if they dont earn money from it i doubt they would shut it down, especially with such an old title were you can barely buy the stuff these days (except ebay).
Too bad its only MP, i never played it on N64 so now would be a good oppertunity but meh, maybe someday ^^
