Reading a bit on Steam the start up crashes could be related to older CPU's lacking SSE 4.0 instructions.

You press X (controller mode) on a wheel like icon in your inventory (or the ships) and then stuff you can craft pops up. Or something like that.
Performance is obnoxious, 120fps but annoying hitches, mini-freezes when "loading" or better yet "randomly generating" stuff i guess. I guess Seanboy is a console peasant so he thinks there's nothing wrong if the game hitches/stutters.

It sticks to 60fps on my gf's 3570k @ 4.5ghz + 970 @ 1537/4000. It does stutter occasionally, though. Can be up to 1sec pauses. One thing of note is that the game uses double buffered vsync.

30cap with stutters and all that ON MEDIUM 1080p.

The gfx are horrible. The controls are meh (which can be fixed). The reloading? The dumbest thing I've ever seen in a game. Mining laser uses the same ammo as your gun. Thus, in the middle of a battle, you have to open your inventory, click on the multi tool option, click your gun which brings up items you can use to reload it, hold the left click then close the screen. None of which pauses the game. So I almost died because I had to spend the time I did reloading. This can easily be fixed in a patch however.
So far though, I'm not seeing what was 60 dollars about this. I'd easily pay 10 or maybe even 20 for this just to consume time but overall, I had more fun with Terraria and I paid 5 bucks for that. I can't see dropping the 200 hours in this that I have in other games of this sort.
You guys want an awesome survival game? Go play The Long Dark. There's nothing survival about this either. It's like walking into a garbage dump of materials so ammo, health, shield, life support is always only a couple steps away from you.

Grab Iron, yellow stuff. Open up your inventory. Where the boxes are with the gears, press E on it then hold left click on the sheets. |
