PLayed for hour.
It's kinda relaxing and nice looking (kinda. textures are butt ugly and geometry simple).
But the performance oh god.
40fps on firs tplanet but 15 in space and on next planet... yep

ok played for some time, visited couple systems...
.... got pretty much what i expected aka sandboxy space/planet exploratorion Tech Demo (aka amazing canvas for future improvement) ... seems to be ideal Zen relax experience in short bursts ... port is a bit mess , controls way too gamepad-ey ... but noway near Batman levels and nothing which cant be patched
... will check more after some patches and pricesdrop
It definiteley needs some random events, but really enjoyed what i played
BTW: The person whose idea was to give it AAA price tag deserves to burn in hell

And to add to my previous post... wtf is up with the terrible fucking interface and constant inventory management... And it requires to HOLD down left click on everything. Even menus. WTF

Bugs me to hell that there is no form of story in the game. You're apparently a man in this unknown part of space where you don't understand shit. WHY? They've done bare minimum with this game, that's for sure. Just do something and run with it. Fuck that.

I read somewhere, I don't remember, that the whole point is you're dead and just a spirit roaming around, which is why people in the same system can't see you. BADUM TSSHHH

What kind of amazing tech are they using? Really.... |
Low res normal map textures. |
I don't mean the textures, i mean the 3d objects having jaggies on some edges. Unless i'm missing something.
Simply looks like some objects ignore the resolution and get upscaled from 720p or something. |
It can sometimes be specular and/or shader aliasing where the specular highlighting and reflections or pixel shader effects can create aliasing and also shimmering which even with downsampling it's very hard to eliminate this particular type of aliasing.
(Which is why combining post-process AA like FXAA or SMAA with downsampling is generally better even if post-AA produces a slight blurriness, combining it with temporal AA if available either via game specific solutions or something like SMAA T2X or 4X is even better and TXAA from Nvidia is usually really good but also introduces more noticeable blur.)

for those playing the demo, has the online aspect of it been stripped out? By that I mean the shared naming of things and stuff. Are demo players playing in their own private untouched galaxy?

What they need is (fallen) civilizations, abandoned cities, mining facilities and so on, not just a bunch of generic, dumb looking creatures and drones moving around slowly.
Could be such a great game if you would actually find interesting stuff to explore instead of mostly barren worlds. It's just the nature of bad procedural generation, I guess.

I usually get the shit end of the stick when these launch day messes happen. I didn't play Arkham Knight for about 6 months after release even though I pre-ordered. Just because of how terrible the performance was. In a way I'm glad there's been an over board shit storm for the launch. Turned me off buying it completely and the game definitely isn't worth €60. But for what it is, its a fun little experience.
Kinda like a dumbed down Elite without the learning curve mixed with a walking simulator. Fun to just switch your brain off and arse around for a few hours. Got a fair bit done too without really focusing on getting 200 of this or 50 of that.
As has been said textures are a bit fugly at times and I had some persistent audio issues + stuttering. But still held relatively well at 60-80 fps @1440p maxed on a 980ti. Am using the GOG release. Feel a bit bad for the dev's. Most of the bs hype that went into the game came from the media. They've been pretty upfront about what it is, maybe could have clarified a bit better what its not. Then again not there fault the click bait wankers want to write 50 poxy stories on the game everyday.
Will definitely pick it up when the price comes down on steam (guessing that wont be long).

It's OK for a little bit but gets boring straight away, nothing to do in this game. But it's a cool idea but just too boring. Don't know if I'll play again.

I left the first tutorial planet, landed on a rock nearby, and my first contact with alien life was this gracious beast:
Spoiler: | |
I think it's a sign
Then I started following the main "quest", visited a couple of new planets and the fatigue already kicked in. The game is exactly what I expected, in all senses.
It's super straightforward and relies on simplistic tasks reminiscent of walking simulators, only with the basic crafting and an inventory as tiny as the amount of fun...it really is void and based on extreme lazy copy-pasta. It's not the worst thing ever in my opinion, but damn. It could serve as a background for some relaxing Zen techniques
The framerate itself is ok here, the stuttering problems however are very noticeable and the game looks seriously washed out/muddy, the controls are wonky (dat flying, remember, no physics) and so on. Such visuals theoretically should run well even on a toaster and instead here we are. Will keep playing for what it's worth, even though the "sense of discovery" will run out of Derplonium soon xD

well im bored already.
i HATE the aggressively small inventory i have, and constantly having to shift things to the ship... and for a game built primarily around resource mining and picking up random trash you find, having to stop and move things to your ship or whatever constantly just ruins what fun i MIGHT otherwise be able to have roaming the world.
i quit when the game finally told me all my inventories were full, and i wasnt having enough fun to consider it worth my time to figure out what to do to clear up space.
holding down the mouse to activate things is the silliest thing ive seen in a game for quite a while, so if nothing else the game certainly is groundbreaking in that regard.
also the game runs kinda poorly for how average it looks.
theres so many better, more interesting games begging for my attention right now, i genuinely dont know if i'll go back.

Holy fuck this game is bad. I was optimistic, I even pre-ordered on Steam. Played for 94 min and hit the refund button.
The flight is absolutely horrendously bad. Inventory space is a joke. Graphics are significantly worse than I expected.
There is no sense of enjoyment from exploring planets when you have that idiotic land ship / launch ship bullshit in place.
Just...wow. For $60 I'd rather fill up my car gas tank and go exploring in real life and fuck this shit.

I remember when i begged for this to come to PC after seeing the first trailers and it being touted as PS4 exclusive.
I have played 5 hours so far, but only because i got nothing better to do and i can watch Netflix while playing it.
I hope there is a way to rush to the end.
But hey is just learned the word 'friendship' in Gek!

You find locations where you can enter some weird building which has a exo upgrade (1 bag slot). First is free and seems to become progressively more expensive. 10k first and 20k after.

Installed it, saw the game put the graphic options and noticed the horrible cursor. Thought to myself why do I even try and uninstalled.

As for the game, is stuttering , small inventory , if you can fly the ship good, good job bruh, graphics are shitty, but at the size what can you ask for.
This game is more for exploring,if you are Indiana jones you'll like it, we'll not quite
I'll wait for some patches before playing again, i like space exp., planet exp., so i might play it some other time. Now it runs bad, lagging, some textures bs, you know, the usual release of a game this days ,bad port
