Hitman runs well for me. Ran well on my R9 390 as well. Also both are AMD titles and both are DX12 so chances are they will run similar.

No DirectX 12 at release.

Quote:

The Deus Ex franchise originated on PC, and we’re passionate about continuing to provide the best experience possible to our long-time fans and players on the PC.

Contrary to our previous announcement, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which is shipping on August 23rd, will unfortunately not support DirectX 12 at launch. We have some extra work and optimizations to do for DX12, and we need more time to ensure we deliver a compelling experience. Our teams are working hard to complete the final push required here though, and we expect to release DX12 support on the week of September 5th!

We thank you for your patience, passion, and support.

- The Deus Ex team

(Not really a loss as such but eh AMD GPU's might not be quite as effective until it's implemented.)

EDIT: Addition to the two above images, of course DX12 is there in the showcase build. Razz

EDIT: Hmm the above two images are titled http://funkyimg.com/i/2fwm4.jpg and http://funkyimg.com/i/2fwm5.jpg so what happens if I keep increasing the numb...

Eh gads!

And we all know why dx12 won't be available at release although they promised it would be.. Same reason vulkan wasn't available for doom. Troll Face

yeah, rise of the tomb raider level of "extra work and optimizations to do for dx12" no doubt Very Happy

Fuck those guys for lying then. If they truly release it on Sept 5th like they said, it won't be too bad (2 weeks after releasing), but it still sucks to tell us "totally on launch day" for a year straight and then change their mind 5 days before release.

@h0rnyfavn it's AMD gaming evolved title, not nGreedia. Same as Hutman or Warhammer.

O'rly? No PureHair, no dx12, no nothing.

yet we have nvidias physx and I suspect the game will have excessive tessellation levels.

Sure, it's "gaming evolved", all right.. Laughing

That's marketing.. Do you see any PureHair settings on the screenshots above? I bet Huang paid a million or two just a week ago that's why the game doesn't seem to have any purehair, it won't have dx12 at launch, yet we see that physx is there, and tessellation that require tuning via the settings menu as in prolly lots of tessellation .. Laughing

The lack of a PureHair setting could have something to do with this:
Quote:
Compared to TressFX, Eidos Montreal’s R&D lab has significantly improved rendering, employing PPLL (Per-Pixel Linked List) as a translucency solution. The developer has also enhanced simulation significantly via async compute for better workload distribution.

So probably no PureHair until the DX12 patch. Maybe that's what they're "optimizing"?

I have to agree that this trend of delaying DX12 support at the last minute is becoming quite annoying.

As for Nvidia's possible shenanigans, we'll know in a couple of days when the embargo lifts.

We're the Master Race. We are expected to play the game in every available path in 2 weeks, then shelve the game for 10 years and replay it with glorious mods on our glorious Steam.

Only Scrubs would still be playing a game 10 days after it was released. Well, either Scrubs or Advanced Master Race Kings who bought the game during a Steam Sale. That's the exception.

Maybe they're not delaying DX12 because they expect anything. Maybe they're delaying it because it's not quite ready.

I know, mind blowing stuff.

Some people still believe that Pascal can't do Async Compute, despite Anandtech's excellent article about what went wrong with Maxwell and how it was fixed in Pascal. Therefore, conspiracy theories about nvidia blocking DX12 will continue for a while.

So when it has an AMD gaming evolved logo it's marketing, when it has nvidia gaemworks logo it's just evul nvidia and their lies.

He was saying that the AMD logo was pointless, as he doesn't believe the game actually uses AMD tech and that it was removed from the game. Therefore the logo is nothing more than a shallow marketing ploy, no tech is in the game.

You turned something that was negative for AMD and misconstrued it in such a way that Nvidia is now a victim that must be defended.
This is amazing.

Now you're changing what you said.
Previously, you were denouncing a double standard:
Logo for AMD is good, it's marketing.
Logo for Nvidia is bad, it means they're evil and infecting our games.

Not anymore, I guess! If your story doesn't work, change it!

No, he was saying it was Negative for AMD because their claims of working closely with developers and implementing their technology in a game was a lie, as they do not have the power to compete with Nvidia and were, effectively, powerless. Showing once more that Nvidia has the power and AMD gets left behind.

But sorry, I know, I know: Poor Nvidia is SO hated by the internet. What shall they ever do.
