You can play this game offline right? What happens if you discover a creature that has already been discovered and only later you go online? Will your medal of discovery be taken away from you and the name of your discovery change?
@Nui You can, if you discover something that has been discovered it will be overwritten (by the most recent), at least that was the case in the legit game so I heard.
perhaps it's by the logic that no man will ever visit a planet twice so the early discoverer will less likely notice this injustice than someone who just discovered it?
but it is indeed such a great and rewarding feature to name on of the slot machine creatures
edit: changed roulette to slot machine creatures... wtf was I thinking?

Perhaps No Man will, but the Women will certainly visit every single planet until they have been feminized. Don't you Vy'Keen dare to try to extract these silicon boobs!
It's also nice to vent anger on it, you can just name some shit looking creature after them.
So I'm very glad I tried the demo first because wow, this game is worth at most 15€ and I would class it as an early access game. Poor people who paid 50-60€ for this garbage.
Great review from Joe this time. Man, some of the videos from old showings by the devs go to prove that they've surely cut content and/or variety so they can sell it like DLC, like for instance the sand planets or the faction system. And they still charged the poor bastards that bought it full price for it

I don't think they cut content. They lied about it existing in the first place out of some misplaced hope it would exist by release.
That content was never there, after some datamining people already found out that all the "gameplay" they've shown since E3 2013 was scripted and not random at all, they basically created a little game with handmade creatures and world to show it at E3, and then just let the RNG run in the actual game.
Sure i agree with Joes review, but for the record he is wrong on the subject of the flying snakelike creatures not appearing ingame at 16:59.. I was in a moon that had the sky full of those beasts.

So basically the same as every other game then. Vertical slices and all that. The real problem in this case was that the hype just went out of control and people's expectations blew out to ridiculous levels.

You just have completely nailed the main and most important problem with and around this game (though you aren't the first one in this thread to do it). Me personally, I can't say the game is bad cause I would be fooling myself, given how much I have enjoyed it for dozens of hours already (and still going), it's just not worth all the money and fuss generated around it (including what it costs to buy it).
I didnt pay attention to this game's trailers or interviews. But seeing Angry Joes review i see they DID show a lot of gameplay with things that went out of the final release.
I wonder whats the possibility of the game having everything it promised in PC but after it got the console testing they had to remove a lot to make it work on consoles. Im just wondering....
I love the consumer guilt culture surrounding this though, especially when it comes to being lied to.
Consumers might garner a little more sympathy if they weren't complete fucking morons that show repeated patterns of retarded behaviour. I agree that advertising laws need to be improved and developers/publishers should be brought to task for obvious false advertising (not that fines are anything more than a slap on the wrist). But even if that happened globally, I doubt it would amount to anything much. People would still preorder and buy season passes in a mad frenzy.
