well its still first beat and lot of a stuff is placeholder , not all weapons are implemented and such ......will reserve my judgement for final version as currently it feels kinda like technical test or something ... and if I can compare the combat in For Honor and what i played from KCD on hussite celebrations (from what they said its from next version) ... KCD's combat is even in this junky state superior to the one in For Honor
but sI just hope they will nail the story and dont go overboard
Yeah I'm fairly optimistic they can deliver a good game but we'll see how the final gameplay is and also importantly how well they've optimized the game.
The available beta version is a bit dated now and focus for the development team is on the full game from what I read on the official forums so a new beta build could either be a while until that sees a release or more likely might not happen at all plus they also have the console versions if I remember correctly and well MS and Sony probably want the game in a playable state even if framerate might not be completely ideal so that must be a lot of work too.
Wtf is going on in the last minute of the video? And why they're showing such random shit? Btw. combat feels very "contactless" - first person poking with sword and enemy is doing some "reactions". But I believe in Vavra's writing skills so at least story could be entertaining.
we at Warhorse Studios are happy to announce a collaboration with Deep Silver, the publishing label of Koch Media, to publish Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Co-publishing combines the core strength of both companies. While Koch Media will use its worldwide distribution channels and partnerships to achieve best retail results, we stand behind the vision of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and retain freedom in the development of our game. We will keep our communication as open and honest as we did from day one of our Kickstarter campaign.
In 2011 we set out on our quest to create a medieval RPG with no magic or dragons. Two years later it seemed like we hit a wall. The studio was on the edge of closurebefore we even started, but there was hope. On January 22nd 2014 we started our Kickstarter Campaign and exactly 35,384 backers made our dream come true. On February 20th 2014 you “kick-started” the project and the realdevelopment of Kingdom Come: Deliverance started. Today over 30,000 new backers have joined and, together with your feedback, we are creating an outstanding game.
With the exclusive co-publishing deal between us and Koch Media we have reached the next important milestone in releasing Kingdom Come: Deliverance. This is a great opportunity to bring Kingdom Come: Deliverance to more players around the world.
With Koch Media as a strong publishing partner, we will now have the chance to reach an even wider audience, while staying in charge of all creative and communication activity. Koch Media will publish the game physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as the physical PC versions under its Deep Silver label. Warhorse Studios will remain solely responsible for worldwide PC digital distribution. Both digital and physical versions will share a common release date to be announced in the near future – the release date however remains in 2017.
You, our Kickstarter Backer and the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Community won’t have to face any changes in the game, your backer rewards or assistance. Everything stays as it was and the promised rewards will be delivered in 2017, shortly after the game is released.
Our communication channels will continue to work in the way you are used to and we will be answering all your messages and mails.
We are convinced that sharing our passion and combining Warhorse Studios with Deep Silver’s professionalism will help us make the game even better.
Well that should take care of any physical release issues at least while keeping them in control of digital plus it also opens up for physical console sales.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance – PC version will not be downgraded due to consoles
Quote:
Back in May, we informed you about the delay of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. According to Warhorse Studios, the game was delayed on all platforms until 2017. The original plan was to release the game on the PC and afterwards on consoles, however the developer – and we assume the publisher – decided to simultaneously release the game on all platforms.
Naturally – and since the PC version was delayed due to consoles – a lot of PC gamers wondered whether the game’s visuals would be downgraded. After all, the game is still facing major performance issues on the PC.
According to Warhorse Studios, the PC version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance won’t be limited by consoles.
“The PC version will not be changed for for consoles, the console version will be done by a port from the PC version, not the other way around. If you have a really powerful pc, you will be able to use it as you should.”
i appreciate that they're flat out saying why it got delayed... most other devs wouldve just blame it on other things. I really hope they dont fuck this up, cuz it looks cool as hell.

In an interview I got with Warhorse Studios after the Beta release they said this:
Warhorse wrote:
“What we want is, and was the plan from the beginning, is to create the best graphical and gameplay experience for all platforms! So PC gamers don’t have to fear any kind of downgrade or similar things. We will push each platform to its limits. And postponing releases has of course negative aspects like… well… postponing , but on the other hand it gives us more time to polish the game and to make it even more beautiful. In general there is nothing you need to be afraid of. There are many factors we are currently dealing with, but we’ll announce all release dates and final decisions in June on E3 Los Angeles.“
I always have a hard time trusting such statements, no matter who's involved, there's simply too much hypocrisy in the gaming world. One must embrace the sceptical_mode and ride the grumpy horse in order to feel a bit better about the future, and potentially tragic outcomes.
It really doesn't help the fact that this game is - at the moment - nothing more than a limited and extremely rough sandbox level, basically some sort of concept that only swallows graphic cards. Really doubt we'll see the full product next year, maybe the first episode (if all goes as planned, and Vavra doesn't get murdered by feminists in the meantime)
I recently bought the game after reading and watching all the videos and updates that have to do with it and it's the first time I've seen a company try so hard to create something unique.
Yes, at the moment the beta we have is more like an Alpha, but there are so many things that stand out about this game that they have my full support.
A few things worth mentioning for those who haven't been following the game / company:
1 - They have hired a full time historian so they can get the details as close to real life as possible.
2 - They consulted fencing experts to get the combat right.
3 - They do listen to ideas and concerns from their followers and are quick to help you / answer if you have problems running the game / forum problems etc.
TL;DR I think it's going to be one of the most unique experiences ever in the genre.
I think this game's release will be a disaster in the technical department unless they postpone it even more. Till summer 2017 for example.
It's been so long since they released the game to the public and we've yet to see something improving in this department.
I personally find it VERY hard to believe they will 'fix' this optimization "issue", especially since we're talking about CryENGINE, a piece of code with lots of problems in it's past.
And we won't until release as they are done with the beta version as to fully focus on the full release next year so it's very unlikely the public beta build will be updated further from what I've read on their forums.
(It is quite out of date by now supposedly and it is also more of a separate build of the game so they can block off certain unfinished content and whatnot compared to the in-house development build of the game.)
While I can appreciate the quest for absolute historically accuracy, I also know that that doesn't usually translates too well into actual fun or good gameplay.
That layered armor system and reworked combat mechanics aren't in the beta build so it's hard to say how it'll work but yeah having the player always carrying around three or so different weapon types depending on what sort of armor the opponent might be wearing plus having to switch your own armor type depending on their weapon might be a bit clunky though they have also stated they aren't going full realism either so I guess it could work.

(In short it's more of a demo actually.)
yep played some more developed build back in Juli on hussite celebrations, it had more of a map, more weapons and stuff
... will be fully rendered and tesselated in glorious detail. For example, a single pair of underpants will have the same level of detail as the whole ocean rendered under the maps in Crysis 2.
...
/sigh
Ok, ok, I kid and I'm mean... But it's hard no to feel disappointment regarding the "evolution" of this whole project.
It was mentioned that in battle, any farmer can kill you. It sounds a little goofy, but since this is a realistic title, the main character will never level up their health or gain toughness or abilities that would be beyond what a normal human being would have. Therefore, staying alive depends on skill with a blade and wearing appropriate armor.
