2 days ago I got myself another computer to play games on LAN, I have 2 ethernet card in CPU#2, 1 of the card is for internet the other one is to connect to my CPU#1. Now everything works fine, internet work on both computer but when i play a game like : C&C generals I can't connect to the CPU #2. I see the CPU#2 but I get a time out error, but I can connect with Direct connect, using the local ip of CPU#2(but not all the games have this option)

The problem is that the game see the same IP for both CPU(I think). Transfering files on the 2 computers works fine.

So what is the solution a router or hub? and whats the difference between a hub and a router?

Also when i disable the internet connection in windows, everything works fine and I can play with the Network/LAN option.

edit: I forgot...when Im in a game on the CPU#1 I can see the CPU#2, but on the CPU#2 I dont see CPU#1

I would go with a Modem Router, used to have a Hub and it worked fine but after trying a Modem Router and a Hub, I would choose a Modem router instead of a hub anyday... Cool thing I like is instead of say turning the downstairs PC on to use the internet upstairs, I can leave the hub on all the time and when ever I want the internet I just turn any PC on anywhere in the house and the Router wakes up and re connects to the net itself... Like at 4 in the morning I can wake up with the PSP and browse the net Very Happy
