Is there some penality for killing enemies, instead of incapping them?

I know you get bonus exp after finishing a mission silently. But if no nearby enemy hears the kill, do you still get the bonus?

Also does killing enemies have any other impact, like on the ending?

Well, beat it on a non-lethal stealth play-through in about 35 hours, give or take. This will easily take the GOTY crown (unless Dishonored 2 unseats it - but that's doubtful for me, as I don't care for that universe as much as I do this one), and all for a measly $35.

No spoilers, but I do like the way they handled the "ending".

Also, make sure you watch the credits at least half-way through, as they stuck a cut-scene between them that sheds some light on the future.

Some things that stuck out for me though:

-Don't get me wrong, Prague was great and very intricately designed, but the game definitely suffered by having only one true hub. I would have loved to do a little bit more globe trotting aside from the main mission locations.

-I didn't feel the same connection to my "team" in this one as I did prior iterations. And of the two people I did care for, the rookie and the psychiatrist, both had next to no character development aside from a scripted dialogue or two. I miss Malik. Hell, by the end of it I even missed that asshole Pritchard.

Two somewhat minor, yet still irksome quibbles I had with the game. Haven't touched that "Breach" mode - don't know if I will.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Is anyone getting memory leaks issues? Whenever I press tab key, it takes a few seconds for the screen to pop up. Also, when I turn the character's head around it tends to act like that too. Game is patched to its latest fix.

Used it at short range, should be fine as long as theyre headshots(which instantly drop the target). if thereres 2 enemies in a room you just barely have enough time to reload before you can get the 2nd down. I like the tesla augment for this more than I do the stun gun.

Pretty lame that the story doesn't take into account how you approached a mission. I just did one where I used non-lethal methods on every enemy, but during a conversation at the end of the mission the guy said "please don't kill any more of my people on your way out."

Hmmm deus ex was never that popular amongst the casuals but 200 is quite low.
It had a pretty low key ad campaign. There was all this buzz and bullshit around that pre-order debacle but since then I saw/heard basically nothing until the release trailer.
Bit unusual for AAA since there marketing budgets are usually larger then the games budget Neutral

Yeah, marketing is everything when it comes to making money with video games. Invest enough in advertising and in creating hype for a drying turd simulator and it will make you millions.

Anyways, I'm glad to see that Deus Ex is still "not for everyone" , and hopefully they keep it that way Smile

EMPing is useful against huge armored enemies. You can't take them down if they haven't been EMPed. Very Happy

You get the most XP for a takedown, a bit(10) less for a stun gun kill. So, I guess, if you kill them you get even less than using a stun gun.

I should have specified my question better:
I meant if i do lethal takedowns, not killing enemies with weapons. Very Happy

Because once in a while i want to just kill the bad guys for enjoyment.

I don't know if it is something to be glad about. If this current installment would have been good enough "for everyone" (or at least for a lot of people), then they could go on making more games in the series while improving on it.

Otherwise you are looking at them "adjusting" the game to appeal to a wider audience or simply dropping it entirely. Either way, you won't get a Deus Ex game you want.

Does the tranq gun actually drop people instantly with headshots? Only tried it once in the tutorial and it seemed to take a few seconds for them to go down.

21 hours in and haven't fired a shot yet, I love Deus Ex Very Happy

It takes a few seconds till they fall down yes.
But from my experience they don't react to you anymore when you headshot them with it.

How was I supposed to get out from a poison gas trap room(main mission) ?

Tbh I couldn't figure it out so I just used a frag grenade and destroyed the door.

Thanks. Maybe I'll get another one when I've expanded the inventory a bit. It's so easy to lure guards over one at a time I guess you don't really need it in most situations anyway.

The dart goes down in an arc, gravity I guess.

Can progressing the MQ lead to failed SQs? I know there will be day/night changes. I've been playing this like I play RPGs, do the SQs first, but I'm getting worried I'll fuck up the MQ.

Yeah from what I remember it was stuck under his eye, it didn't cause a problem, just noticed they didn't drop instantly. Think that was the second enemy you came across, haven't shot anything since.

Golem City is pretty much around 30% in the story.

I sincerely hope the main story is not finished (it will be via season pass) because it felt like half a season of a show that was never finished.

There was a rumor awhile ago that the game was split into three parts which could be why the ending doesn't feel right, and also why there's only one city hub.

There's a room in the first area with a powerless keypad and a breaker. When you switch the breaker the floor is electrified, but it doesn't get to the keypad. Am I supposed to come back to it later?
