Tried it as well, technically it's very impressive. Really good and beautiful graphics (just like Battlefront) and all those effects showing at the same time, both visual and sound. The gameplay mechanics on the other hand are disappointing, but sadly this is the direction the Battlefield franchise is headed, so you either take it or move on (I'm probably doing the latter).
A thing I've noticed, I don't think the 42% scale resolution is the default, looks very odd using that one. When I increased it to 50 ithen it the image became crisp like when you play at native resolution. My guess is they knew native resolution was still too heavy in the current optimization pass so they made 42% the default for the beta, but I'm sure they'll sort that out in time for release day (if it isn't already). Same situation with the CPU usage which seems excessive just like it happened with the BF4 beta, but that was also fixed before release day.

I really, REALLY missed the bolt-action rifles in this one. It's appalling they're not the norm in a WWI game, im even more annoyed than i predicted i would. Not only they're not the focus, but they're not even there (at least for the beta).

aside from the no nos with the setting and weapons, i gotta admit it runs like a dream and found it hard to quit the session cause I was having quite a bit of fun. I'll be picking this one up

That's what I call optimization! Performance in this game is top notch. There are some issues like memory leaks etc but overall I'm really impressed with how well it runs.
Fuck dat POS DAWN engine(Deus Ex) ! 
PS After witnessing this performance optimization miracle I uninstalled the game. It's not my thing.

I'm impress about performance with my old rig ( 2500k + gtx 570 ) > 35 / 40 fps on high preset > very cool !

Whoa, game runs at 60fps everything on ultra. And it looks so nice ^_^ Will pick this one up for sure! Battlefront was also an almost buy for me but the gameplay mechanics were too basic in that one. This has all the nice things combined in a package

The optimization is crazy...getting 55-70 fps on ultra 1440p with a 970. Usually with newer games I have to drop to 1080p to get 60 fps.

| Code: | | If you already changed it from the default 42%, you might need to change "GstRender.ResolutionScale" to "1.0" to get exact native resolution again, in my case 42% was ~0.99 something. The file you need to edit is "Documents\Battlefield 1 Open Beta\settings\PROFSAVE_profile", confirm with render.drawscreeninfo 1 in console (the "internal" resolution). |
My 42% as I touched it was actually "GstRender.ResolutionScale 0.987925"

Servers are getting hammered. I spawned without any weapon at all Only medic had a gun. Had to select a different loadout to unlock my weapons again
