it's a pity the SKGTV rel has the english subs burned in which as far as I know is not allowed. DEFLATE did it right but that's sd so NTB for the rescue again.
Escobar character will be hard to replace, everything was around him.
True, BUT: remember this guy? He might not be as absolutely bonkers as Escobar (but let's face it - which narco is?), so no president assassinations or bombs on passenger airplanes or in front of shopping malls, but the DEA rated him to have more influence in the narco bussiness than Escobar ever had. There must be a story there.
Plus, he has run from state prison twice (so far ), using underground tunnels equipped with electricity and ventilation. Escobar only ran once, without any tunnels, from a prison he'd designed and built himself - no big deal
I would say Noriega is probably the most notorious Bandido in the time frame along side Escobar.
They failed to build up any character(s) as interesting as Escobar, to the point that jumping to another point with a full new cast would make more sense.
I hope im wrong but i dont think this will last long enouf to get much in the XXI cent
@ Episode 5 right now. They're filling the season space with a lot of fiction, but they're doing it with incredible quality, and they're not overlooking the important historical facts (like the "Pepes" creation). This season is already better than the first one.
Oh, and the music is mesmerizing

+1 That was my guess I posted here last year when I thought S2 wouldn't be fully about Escobar

Just finished. What is there left to say... this was just genius television. So f.u.c.k.i.n.g w.e.l.l d.o.n.e. Best tv show in 2016 in my book and I seriously doubt it will be bested before the end of the year, the only show that got a shot is Fargo and they will have to put out their best display ever if they want to achieve it.
Wagner Moura has almost obtained god status in the acting department (for me personally) after this (he was already pretty high up with the Tropa de Elite movies). And the rest of the cast was also fantastic, this shit was just so well acted the whole way, and that includes most of the minor characters as well. What impressed me the most was just how real it all felt (even with the several introduced fiction bits). "Filler" has never been this good.
Anyway, looking forward to what they'll bring us for S3, Noriega wouldn't be bad at all I say, though judging by that teaser they want to go with Cartel de Cali and The Castaños.
EDIT: Forget what I said about Fargo, I just realized S3 isn't coming until 2017. Only show that came close to this in 2016 IMO is Gomorra, so I'm pretty confident this will remain my personal best of 2016 (I'd be happy if some outsider show proved me wrong, though ).
Just started S02E01 and it dawned on me - don't Netflix film and distribute in 4k? A quick search online and it doesn't look like there are any 4k/UHD releases of Narcos.
Is this because there is know X264 type technology that will allow for well compressed 4k rips? Or some other reason? Or does my usenet indexer just suck balls?
That's partially correct (or incorrect). No official news about who the next story will be, but the show has been renewed for at least 2 more seasons. I rather have Noriega than Chapo though. Chapo story may not be over yet (as long as Mexico doesn't extradite him ).
