One question. I downloaded "the crack" from a trusty source, but it AV says its some trojan.
False positive? Sorry if it was asked before.

Check it with Virustotal.com?

Quick question guys; Is there any risk even with a fake account being created specifically for this?
I mean does it modify and/or mess with any of Steam's core file which could fuck up our main account at a later point?

If you pasted the whole crack it should have it's own steam dir in the games folder.

Can you play offline to avoid steam patch? I mean if I update the game, run it, then switch steam to offline mode, can i still play the game for as long as i want or do you still need to go online for this game to work

Yes you can !
So after my first problems i had with the crack and my doubts in the beginning that it wont even work im happy to tell you its working flawless and easy. I activated now Doom, JC3 and TR and they work like a charm. My problem in the beginning was my own fault cause i wanted to place the game inside the steam dir and not vice versa  But after finding out its a really easy step by step way.
Almost done with doom, next prolly JC3 dlc and afterwards TR.
Have fun aslong its lasting.

It doesn't work coz they've fixed the exploit.
If you activated these games on weekend and set steam to start in offline mode then you could still play them now.

Offline gaming still works.. and it will for a few weeks to moneths.. Hopefully till then,further progress will be made...

Damn I want to grab this game but feels annoying to pay 'full price' at this stage. 15€ could force me into instabuy. CDKeys still seems to be the cheapest deal.

Same price for the console versions.
But you have to either pick it up from the store or get it shipped to you which of course will carry some additional cost. But if you pick it up from the store, $20 for Doom is super cheap!!

Just finished this game. Was absolutely great. And the graphics were one of the very best I've ever seen and it ran fucking flawlessly. Just imagine a half-life 1 remake with this engine 
This game was even a tad too fast for the fucking great visuals.
