so one little question: did you copy the url after putting it into your basket and copied to another tab/vpn less connection and then logged it to buy or have you tried to purchase it with the active vpn?

thats why you got banned, not a surprise tbh. and the other stuff works fine since ages (and still does). just use a vpn connection or vpn plugin a browser. go to the origin site, put it into the basket. click the yellow purchase button, now it wants you to login -> copy the complete url into another tab/browser without vpn (or disconnect your vpn) and login to purchase with your normal ip

So, did anyone else recently bought any game on Origin via South African VPN (and of course disconnected VPN before logging in) ?

I know this method still works, but I would like to have it confirmed from someone who bought something recently using this method.

I don't think it's worth it anymore, a few days ago they increased the South African price to counteract people using the VPN trick.

I really wish they perma-banned you and took your money anyway. I guess I should just be thankful they didn't let you keep the game. I'll take small victories where I can.

Thanks to people like you, ALL of our games have now gone up to 1000ZAR from the standard 600ZAR. You abusing the system just screwed over an entire country. All of us now have to pay borderline unaffordable prices for EA games that we were really looking forward to. Just go have a look at how everyone is talking about it on SA game forums. We can only hope EA retracts this decision down the line and starts perma-banning people like you.

So thanks, I guess. I was really looking forward to BF1, but nobody will be able to afford it in South Africa now so it will be DOA.

Pricing has always been shit. If only they'd price it reasonably instead of the highest they can get out of people in certain regions. That way people who can't afford their overpriced prices don't have to shop in other regions or resort to piracy.

EA could have just as easily put in place tighter measures against the use of VPN purchases, but they just chose the easy road and hiked the prices, so in reality its EA who really fucked you with their greed and laziness

Battlefield 4 is a mess, BF1 can't come soon enough.

Every fucking server I find is either 24/7 locker with no rules, 24/7 metro with no rules, HC with retarded rules and fast spawn which leads to vehicle spam or 64 players rush( Are You Serious ) and I keep running into blatant hackers who aren't even trying to hide it.

I'm pretty sure BF1 has restrictions in place that should prevent fucktarded servers, that's something.

There are few servers to play on...At least in Europe.

It's not silly, one can be a reaction to the other, people start sniping tired of the bullet spamy CQC or a reaction to the map design.
He refers to a mode that is authentic to a WW1 theme.
