Haha yeah, I really wish we could merge threads, and make a giant Football Manager - The Reskinning one like the Formula Derp, Pro Evo Failure and the 2K series. Hell, we could do that with the 80% of the sequels released these days
I'm still in rehab when it comes to FM, so staying away from the thread would be recommended for me. I need to be careful though, the desire is always around the corner, all the entire nights spent playing it nearly costed me my degree years ago xD
I feel you brotha!
I join the feels. I've been giving so much money to SI all these years, always somehow getting bought by the small improvements. No more!
I last bought FM14, skipped FM15 as it looked the same with more crap, nearly bought FM16 but couldnt keep away from my FM14 save. I might also go for FM17 as I'm sure it will feel much more improved over FM14.
But...we will see, I'm still enjoing my FM14 career game.
Don't you just love Sports Interactive's approach to new versions? They announce a new version, sell it as a brand new game, but never reveal whether there are new features worth noting until weeks later. I can't tell if any other game does it like that.
So you basically have a store page on Steam with PR bs and no actual features listed at all. Arrogant pricks.
That's why stop pre-ordering shit like this an lets wait for the proper reviews. It looks like this one will be even less changed than the previous ones. I hope I'm wrong on this.

LOL , I still play FM 2012 occasionally and so far didnt see a reason to get the newest one. Actually they always screwed up some shit like AI or stats or whatever.
I think FM14 was better than FM12 because of the match engine allowing the players to have actual physical bodies. Other players no longer ran straight each other and it wasnt a case of fastest team wins anymore.
Great game always will be, remember it started off as championship manager this game then they had to re brand into fm.
.....and all downhill from there. Cash grab city now.
I agree. Over the last years they concentrated on really ridiculous ideas, instead of improving the core. For example, styling your manager like it's a Sims game.
FM these days should be called "Press Conference Simulator" or something like that.
Seriously, I HATE HATE HATE all the new media/team talk stuff they keep cramming in there. It is like somewhere along the line someone forgot it is a GAME!
Also, how can they get away with a match engine that exceptionally ugly in 2016?!

From playing the original Champ Manager on Amiga back in the early 90's I'd bought every single game from them up until about 4 years ago when I realised I was trying to skip most of the game now. From the training regimes to all the media nonsense, team talks etc. Just not interested in all that.

Yup, that's the problem for me as well. Far too many times do I feel like a babysitter than a football coach. Just too much depth into nonsense... Hell the silly personal life shit from fifa manager was more interesting than player talks and media questions.
There's still a very solid base in this game... but yeah I feel like I skip more of the game than when I play some of the older manager games.
The FIRST thing I do in every FM new game is to fire my entire backroom staff; hire a new ASS MAN (Why are there no ass women to hire? Misogyny 360.), then I tell him to do all the stupid media interview related bs. Done.
You do still have to make some answers to specific questions at times though, but it does remove most of it. New questions to be asked in 2017? Amazing.
"EternalBlueScreen STORMS OUT OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE".
Where are my female physiotherapists and Fitness trainers!? Misogyny 720.
Team doctors, physios and fitness staff; Where's the realism? Realism in FM 2017? Come on dudes.
Why are there no female managers or female players in the top male dominated leagues? Misogyny.
If guys like Hazard and Coutinho can play in the Premier League, so can a girl or a woman. Messi isn't the strongest person but he's agile, so it is time to bring feminism into top tier football and lets advocate for equal rights of opportunity; allow the best female players trials and I'm sure at least some of them can play better than the deadwood shit-ass players populating most top tier teams in any European top league club.
They say youth players become better players if they're playing with and against stronger players; I think the same goes for female players as well. If they were allowed to train at a higher level, which at this time is found in the male dominated leagues, their level would also improve.
Women can't be strong enough for Premier league they say LOL. Just let them train at a higher level. The sport at the highest level is dominated by males; look at the rats nest that is and still is FIFA.
Football isn't primarily a contact sport; though it is allowed to be physical; it isn't the only way to play and to be effective, and there are plenty of roles in a team for smaller, less physically strong players; for example quick, highly technical and intelligent players. You can be excellent at football even if you aren't physically dominating other players. You can be an excellent tackler, defender, ballwinning midfielder and passer, a top striker and keeper, etc etc. It is pretty bullshit what's going on and I blame Sports Interactive and the Football Manager series for catering to the systematic marginalization of women around the world, and I'm sure they're to blame for world hunger and global warming, too, deep down you know it to be true.
I think you can choose Female/Male manager since 2016? But there aren't any in the actual game managing clubs, nor have I seen a regen female manager manage anything.
But woman can build muscle just fine if they want; for example for top athletes playing versus male players in a top football league for example. I think women can play at a lot higher level than we see in football today; they aren't at the level of the top male players even close, but man, it'd be great to see a league project not defined by gender at some point, but by the actual skill of the player and his or her role and worth to their team.
First thing FM2017 needs to do is to include female leagues, that's step one, then add all the appropriate staff and add regens of female managers simulated to be able to compete with male regens, because why the hell not.
