Damn, I wish the next guy could somehow retcon the last 6 years of Warcraft lore, but it's probably unsalvageable at this point.

Legion does a pretty good job with killing off a lot of big characters, leaves room to create something new

I still sell my felslate for 100g each when sold in stacks of 200. Smaller stacks sell for much lower, but 200 stacks have kept the high prices and crafters still buy those stacks. Even stacks of 100 still sell for around 90-95 per item on my server. It's when it gets to 50 and 20 stacks that the price takes a dive.
If you're lucky, you can also find people selling BoE epics for stupidly low prices. Due to the new system in Legion where item drops can have a higher ilvl, the same item (the same name and stats) can have different ilvls. Some people sell their ilvl 840 epics for the prices of a 797 (or somesuch) version of the same name without realizing it. They only looked at the name and the prices.
I saw this when I was selling a 845 piece for 40 000 gold and saw a dude sell his 840 for 8000 gold (the price of the lowest version of this epic, at around 790ilvl). I bought his and sold it back for around 30k (and it was indeed bought, the 845 remains pending).
So, it's not a bad idea to take a look at the AH for mistakes like this. Filter by rarity (both blues and purples sell for a lot).

Doesn't the mod Auctioneer or something else that took over do it for you? I remember back when I still played using it to make quite some profit on the AH.
You could scan the AH, after a few weeks you'd have the going rate for most items and then you set certain parameters to find mistakes/low priced items in a click.

I think the mods leads to some of those errors. When I got the 845 piece, I linked it in chat and someone told me they had one mod valuing it at 45k, but a second mod valuing it at 10k.
I believe those mods make mistakes because they average the value of all of those different versions (since they all share the same name). And since the 8k pieces are more common than the 40k pieces, the average is very low and people who trust their mods end up underselling their items. Every item is seen as being the same item, despite different ilvl.
If someone tweaks their mod to look at the ilvls and find mistakes based on it, that could be very useful.

MMh, the new raid is very easy
Got to the second last boss with a pug.
And the second last would have gone also if we hadn't had such a useless people in the group.
It has 2 stages, but we always lost few people in the 1st stage. And the 2nd stage is an 'enrage' stage -> we got it down to 10% at best, with several people down already when the stage started (dps down)
Most of the bosses went with first attempt, without looking at any youtube videos

Checked legion out today, installed a LAN server was quite suprised how far the private servers have come. Last time I checked was in the Vanilla days to have a sandbox to prepare the positions for the Blackwing Lair raid for my guild
WoW really has become daft with how they simplified everything, checked on my old account with a new char to see if it was the emu's doing or blizz... t'was Blizz ofcourse.
Ended up deleting the Legion one and setting up a WotLK with bots (who needs humanz!) for whenever me and the misses feel nostalgic. Was first thinking of Vanilla but... we played the game quite a bit in TBC and WotLK so better to set that up properly instead of having 2 or 3 versions around.

Most of it is out there, as far as I understood it: the anti-cheat stuff was held back (for good reason).
There are enough cores/repacks out there for vanilla if you want to experience it... as to servers: new ones pop up and others die... eventually you'll have a replacement where everyone flocks to. If there isn't already... no clue since I never was interested in private servers other than running my own.

Only repacks ive seen are many years old and still riddled with bugs and lacking :/ thinking about alterwow 3.5 or something like that. Nostsomehing was pretty well developed and i would love that server here!

So which pre-Cata private server is currently recommended? I had great experience on TrueWoW (very few bugged quests and a decent community), but haven't played for a while...

The quality of MoP is rather bad, all those pathing issues and graphical glitches on panda island... how long has that expac been around? 2 Years and it still has those things.
@Storm, just try to play it casual. The only thing that can not be done casual is raid progression (that does not mean you can't raid). There's really no need to play it entire days any more... that's just Blizz tricking you into doing so. I'd argue ever since WotLK everything has become accessible on your own time.

I wish some of you guys educated yourself before spewing wow private server bullshit. Although the subreddit wowservers is bad, at least they know the basics. Warmane aka Molten(their old name wish soooooo much shit in their history) is dodgy as hell, with constant broken promises and confirmed several times - yes even by the devs to be FAKING their population.
If you want good vanilla servers, kronos and therebirth would probably be your best bet.
And your comment about nostalrius Stormwolf is pretty damn childish, entitled and unreasonable.

This is exactly the shit that slowly pushed me away from the game. "Fall behind"... who?! No-lifers? Arrogant people? Blizzard? Society?

You forgot "friends" and "guildies" in that.

Friends and 'guildies' don't automatically translate into interested parties willing to share one's pleasure for the journey while ignoring the destination.
Logged recently in game only to see my "old" guild (since WoTLK) having exactly the same activities, the same discussions, the same almost desperate hunt for soon-to-be-useless things. And to think now they are into their 35's and married with children...
I rarely (read "never") see people talking about or being interested in just having fun for themselves and not for 'omgepixplz!11'. This stupid race is exhausting, pointless, hollow.
My last great experience in WoW has been a couple of months ago, while leveling a NE warrior and questing in Northrend using the actioncam post patch 7.0. It felt like playing another game and the joy of returning to (possbily) the best expansion from the game was real.

WoW gets to stave off death a little longer. The # of paying subscription apparently went back up to 10m. It had gone down to around 4m before the launch of Legion.

Any source for that 10m claim? I find it hard to believe, tbh.
