The MSAA is very selective. It is only applied to a few render targets where aliasing is overly annoying.
Very interesting approach, a big image quality improvement at low performance cost.

No ReShade
Poor performance
Issues loading
Not exclusive fullscreen
Console version better performance

you sure that's intended and not just a rendering technique side effect?

The MSAA on PC is not MSAA anyway. 4xMSAA can't possibly perform worse than 4xSSAA unless you're not actually doing MSAA. It's just hilarious how you're better off doing 4xSSAA (which means downsampling from 2160p "4K" to 1080p..) over 4x"whateverbutnotMS"AA to deal with jaggies. Terrible, terrible job on their part.

Are you guys using dynamic preset?
I haz i7 3770k overclocked, 16gb of ram, samsung pro ssd where game is installed, and AMD 390X card with 8gb vram.
I'm using the default preset it found as high, initially performance sucked, went into options, saw that it was locked to 30fps, wtf. Set it to 60 to mach my monitor refresh rate and all is good. Had a couple of races and game was running 60fps. Did download the AMD horizon hotfix drivers. Did do the DDU first before installing new ones like I always do.
I also verified the HDD writes, After about 5 races, total writes was about 700MB with about 690MB of it being when game was first launched doing it's 1st run optimization stuff.
edit: See that RAM usage though? Game almost reserved 10GB of it heh

Isn't there some "problem" with a fully deferred rendering engine and traditional MSAA?
Which is why 4A switched from MSAA(4x) in Metro 2033 to SSAA 0.5x - 4x in Metro Last Light or why there's such a major performance hit in say Deus Ex Mankind Divided when using MSAA.
Of course now there's also some in-between Forward+ rendering mode and I don't know what exactly Forza uses in it's engine.
(CroTeam apparently favors Forward+ rendering from what I've read.)
Performance wise though I would have assumed FXAA, SMAA or some temporal custom solution (Or SMAA again.) over MSAA or SSAA though on PC there's room for multiple varieties depending on the users preferences and hardware.

To be fair, i run this maxed out with 4x msaa at ultra, 1080p, with no problems what so ever, its pretty smooth, so i bet some patches will iron out those incompatibility issues.. the game is far from broken as far as i can see... but we will see if the next patch will help those ppl with bad performence.

You run it maxed out on a 1070 along with the latest i7, SSD and 16GB RAM? Holy crap, stop the presses
The issue here is with it running like shit on hardware that blows the xdurr one out of the water, along with some weird behavior (especially on AMD cards, damn). It runs more than well on any 10XX card + titanX, but it's still a bad port... so far.
Also saw some folks claiming it running well on older processors + 10XX so I'd guess that the issue are on older GPU's not being optimized properly, hopefully there also are some driver optimizations to be done, but more on the AMD side since I'm assuming this game will use async compute thoroughly due to its xdurr roots

Is this strictly a dx12 title? Maybe that explains older gpu's are having issues

This is a very conflicted game it seems.
I might buy it mainly cos there is a teen in the house who is desperate to have it on his Xbone, as seeing as I would get it for basically £10, I might do so.
However, my PC seems to possibly not handle it - but there is so much conflicted evidence out there its impossible to tell.
Has anyone here got similar specs to me (i7 4970, 970, 16Gb) and having a good time?

I was under the impression that you could only play on the PC OR the Xbox - not both at the same time, as MS checks the key isn't being used.

The problem was never decryption IMO. Those store games use some additional layer of crap that no one showed it can be cracked or no one cared so far at least.
