*that* is amazing Very Happy Starcrafts animated strips are a thing, and finally you can play with the same quirky humour in a 1v1. Win-win!
BTW, this was (is?) an indiegogo campaign, funded mostly by players https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-starcrafts-mod--3#/

https://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/starcraft-mass-recall/

free dl, 100% legal, even works with starter (free) sc2 edition! take a close look at the installation instructions tho. if you ask for a complete package ready-to-go, there's no such thing AFAIK.

Quote:
HOW DO I PLAY?
1) download starcraft 2 for free here: https://us.battle.net/account/sc2/sta...
2) Once its installed go to the arcade tab and search "Star Crafts Mod"
*note:There is a space between Star and Crafts, the search engine is kind of specific so that's important.

QUICKSTART IF SC2 IS ALREADY INSTALLED:
North America: battlenet:://starcraft/map/1/279403

"KeSPA announced that it will be discontinuing StarCraft ProLeague starting October 18. StarCraft ProLeague is the world’s first team based eSports league which marked its 14 th season in 2016 since it was first started in March 2003."

Well, seems that this will be the last year of Korean SC2 eSports division (the most important in the world for the game, they invented eSports for fuck's sake). The game itself will be sustained by microtransactions to buy different perks like announcer packs, skins and co-op generals from now on. The infamous "daed gaem" meme appears to be more and more true & relevant.

Interest in SC2 is very low nowadays in Korea. That's why Blizzard has forced more foreigners to get places in Blizzon. They are trying to have local "hero" players from several countries to stir up interest from their compatriots.

The hardcore fans don't like this because competitiveness is being undermined.

Blizzard will continue to support SC2 for a long time, so ... no need to panic. But I am sure several players will retire before the year's end in Korea.

Agreed.

Well, seems that everything's not lost... GSL and KeSPA Cup will be supported by Blizzard and SPOTV, and the JinAir team (which has Maru, sOs and Rogue above else) will still continue to work as a team. The rest 6 PL teams will be disbanded.

On a personal note, StarCraft 2 competitively is on a freefall since 2015. Foreigner players are reigning again (Nerchio, Neeb) and this is fine and dandy, but the strats, the meta, mechanics... all came from the hard-working Korean players. Dunno, PL was the most entertaining tournament after all. Will be sorely missed.

https://www.vg247.com/2016/11/06/starcraft-2-final-nova-mission-out-this-month-alexi-stukovs-coming-to-co-op-war-chest-other-features-in-the-works/
Quote:
StarCraft 2 players will be able to grab the third and final Nova Mission Pack later this month, and that’s not all: former Terran vice admiral and current-infested leader of Stukov’s forces, Alexei Stukov will be the newest co-cop Commander added to the game.

First off, the final Nova Covert Ops mission pack will arrive on November 22. It finds Nova trying to bring the conspiracy uncovered in chapter two to a halt “once and for all.”

Along with its release, all Covert Ops assets will be added to the editor. You can have a look at the Covert Ops screens and art scattered throughout the post.

Now, back to that Alexi Stukov, the part Zerg, part Terran fella who is the latest Commander to be added to co-op sometime before the end of the year.

According to Blizzard, Stukov borrows mechanics from both races and uses Siege Tanks equipped with tentacles. These can also be loaded with explosive infested infantry.

He can infest nests which continuously generate a swarm of troops which can be used to wear down the opponent’s defenses. Even his bunkers “rise up and fight for their master.”

Blizzard has more content in store for StarCraft 2 players in the future in the form of new Arcade features, Custom Tournaments, a “Watch” tab, and more.

And that’s not all: a War Chest feature is in the works. It is a virtual treasure map which players can purchase, optionally of course, to earn new in-game content by playing various SC2 game modes. Players will earn more rewards the more they play, and the War Chest will even come with its own seasons with new content to earn each time.

Rewards include new faction-specific skins for each race, such as the Tal’darim, Primal Zerg, and the Terran mercenaries. New digital comics are also planned with each new War Chest season. The three comics will involve each of the races and will be readable within StarCraft 2. New command console skins will also be offered as a reward.

The current plan is two seasons a year, with each season tied to major eSport events. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the War Chest go towards Global eSports Initiatives.

More information on the War Chest will shared in the first half of 2017, as it is still in the early development stages.

Blizzard is giving away full copies of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for free

It appears that Blizzard is giving away full copies of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for free to Battle.net users. At this point, it appears that Blizzard is giving away the first part of the StarCraft 2 trilogy randomly to Battle.net users, therefore we strongly suggest checking your account in case you’ve already received a free copy of it.

Do note that Blizzard is giving away the full copy of StarCraft 2: Wings of Libery and not StarCraft II: Starter Edition; the free version of StarCraft 2 that has been available for a while.

Blizzard has not officially announced anything yet, though we are pretty sure that the company will eventually issue a press release.

I saw this mentioned elsewhere so out of curiosity I checked my Battlenet account that had 0 games owned and is still at 0 games owned. Guess it is only going to people that might have spent some money on any of their games.

What can I do with the Starter Edition? I have no interest in playing PvP and I have already finished all the SP campaigns. Can I play those mods, like the one that recreates the original Starcraft? Or other single-player stuff?

Yes you can play the Mass Recall mod - also the StarCrafts cartoonesque mod.
I don't know about all of the mods ( only these two really ), but you should be able to play most of them with the Starter edition. As long as it shows up on the Arcade, you should be allowed to play it !

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
