Yeah it got alot of technical issues but the game is awesome. I love it, story is great! I didnt expect alot from this game but it delivers aside from the technical issues. Its no GTAV but its very good.

It should work well without major problems, you just need this fix ( https://thirteenag.github.io/wfp#s_other2 ), and then you're good to go. Razz

The only possible annoyance with modern hardware could be the flickering shadows bug (I did encounter it with the 570 when I replayed it), sadly I couldn't find a way to fix it without putting the shadows on very low (the ugly, blob-like ones).

Lasted about thirty minutes before I had to abort. Utter shambles of a release. Perhaps if they'd spent more time optimising instead of releasing a new video every two hours, then it may have been worth my time.

Just noticed LA Noire has been upped, might give that a whirl, never completed it the first time round and it certainly won't disappoint compared to this shit.

The sitdown with Clay's allies at the end of Enzo Conti's storyline is bugged. The pop-up that allows you to choose who is assigned the territory doesn't appear.

I tried aborting the mission, but that only reloaded the scene and didn't fix anything.

I believe I'm close to the end, so this is really infuriating.

I'm not sure what movie industry Vavra was referring to, but it sure wasn't modern Hollywood. The AAA games industry and Hollywood are more or less interchangeable in terms of their production ideology. The only real significant difference is their acting talent actually gets paid a decent wage (well some of them anyway).

I still remember the disappointment with Mafia 2, after realizing how it was lobotomized by the corporate folks, with many original ideas and design decisions shown in screenshots/trailers being massively toned down in the final version (or completely removed: https://tcrf.net/Mafia_II ). And yet I still ended up liking the game, it had some classic genuine charm despite being inferior to the original in every way.

But this one, it's on another level of disappointment really. It feels like an alien entity, something that absolutely doesn't belong here, the crippled son of the couch generation coming from ouderp space.

The game quickly devolves into most repetitive ubishitty style of busywork.
Fuck around with the rackets to make the capo come out, kill capo, rinse and repeat...
While I still like the story and dialogue, I feel like I am suffering through the gameplay just to get to the next cutscene, which used to be an asscreed staple.

So, from what I've been reading in this thread and if I understood it correctly, they managed to make it worse than the previous game in the series again?

There are a lot of small details from other mafia games that are missing here, but that doesnt make the older mafia games any better. they had great story but nothing to do besides those. it had a large life-like open world with nothing to do in it. it was pointless. the game was as linear as max payne or COD, minus the good shooting mechanics.

Mafia 3 lacks some of the attention to details but the overall game is far better. the shooting is better. the driving and camera IMO is much better. the AI is better. the mission structure in so many cases is more open ended and allows more player decision making. there is stealth.

you can compare what mafia 1 and 2 did better than mafia 3 all you want, but you can oh so very easily do the reverse. and if you take all the small side missions of Mafia 3 out and remove them completely than you are left with half a game.... that is just like Mafia 2 or 1. Mafia 1 and 2 were what Mafia 3 is with somenice graphical touches and without the side content.

The only real complaint i see here is the technical side. Me, personally, i run the game on a 5 year old rig on about 30-40 FPS on high details 1080p and the game looks just fine to me. no worse than Watch dogs or GTAV (and i played both of them in the past 2 weeks so this isnt nostalgia memory here) only it runs worse but not crap. obviously this game should run better than it does.

if you want to complain - go ahead, but don't tell me the game is worse than Mafia 1 or 2 in terms of gameplay because it isnt. it does everything importnat the older games did, does it better and does more. (i dont count turning the lights off and on or changing clothes as a major gameplay element).
Technically M3 should run better than it does, but it isnt Batman:AK or AC:Unity level of f%ckfest, at least. hopefully patches will remedy these issues sooner than later.

It depends, do you like extremely dumbed down games that run poorly with Ubi-grind objectives?

While I'm not a big fan of M3, I'd tend to agree with you overall.

It's just the cultural disease that's so widespread in modern gaming. A game has to be literally the best in the genre to have a chance - or the majority of naysayers will label it the worst in the genre.

Cherry picking aspects of ancient games and pretending that's all there is to it, is just one moronic way to accomplish this delusional approach.

M3 is definitely not that great - but it's a decent enough GTA clone with a strong story. It's very much like Watch Dogs and Sleeping Dogs in that way. Well, Watch Dogs had a shit story IIRC, but it wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be, and some of the gameplay was pretty good.

Just give it a year or two - and most people will come around and realise that it's not all that bad.

Of course, on the Hump - the issue seems worse, because we have a lot of particularly vocal and narrow-minded people here.

Ladies and gentlewhores,

where do I fucking start.....maybe by raping and tearing their little cocks apart these sons of goddamn developer cockbitches!
Now personally they can suck my hairy banana in advance but I havent tried this fuckimng dickgame yet. What I am fucking reading here though makes me sick makes me want to devour my own dong Evil or Very Mad
These fucking monkeybears want our money for....the fuck for what....for that piece of feces? Or do they want to fucking give us the game plus money? I'd take it only this way around!
Dickia 1 was a wonderful a fantastic piece of art many years ago I enjoyed it like a good shit in the toilet. I then saw the first dick pics of Dickia 2 and was disafuckingpointed. It looked too clean too plastic vibrator like. The game itself then looked good and was pretty decent storywise but the shooting the fucking didnt have the Dickia 1 atmosphere and no free roam? Fuck them all! Evil or Very Mad Build a fucking big Mafia city and let it go to waste thats the whorespirit thank you very fucking much.

Then we got fucking Dickia 3. The fucking assholes writing their magazines and only articles AS FUCKING ALWAYS tell us its gonna be a good game an interesting game a fucking nice game and what do we get? HORSESHIT at its finest. Its smelling badly its looking fucking shit it plays like shit its bugged like a possible terrorists home.
Now let me be clear: I will tear them all a second asshole these fucking fucking dicklicking whoremongering bitchfuckers Evil or Very Mad No money from me you damn whorelovers.

The same with the fucking bugged and shitty fucking dickgames like Assfuckingwhore Creed and Dick of Motherfucker and Far Cunt! These bitches can shove their little shit games in their shit infested asses! All of them bitches Evil or Very Mad

40gb of space for dogshit pure shit infested garbage fuck you all Evil or Very Mad At least Mirrors Dick was cracked I will try that soon even though it is pretty SHITTY as well....fuck them all!

And Telltale Batman what a goddamn joke once again. It works fine with the gamepad but FUCK them for not even properly implementing 4k resolution without the mouse bug....man these dicklickers. The episodes are about 1 hour long but its bugged and fucked Laughing Laughing
These modern times are beautiful. Lets go all inside ourselves and find the beauty of this modern dickworld. Its beautiful. Every 5th blockbuster game is decent everything else can be flushed down the shit infested toilet IFUCKINGMMEDIATELFUCKINGLY Evil or Very Mad

One more thing: fuck all the mods in this forum fuck them all for banning sooo many good whores over the last decade yet keeping the little whining superbitches forever Laughing its a disaster a shame but fuck em all its not what its used to be in here anyway...the good old times.
Fine men were fucked and raped mostly in 2006 to 2008 for no reason ofc. THEY kept this board afuckinglive! And they've all been disposed like stinky fucked meat Sad

Well anyway fuck off and enjoy Dickia 3! I am sure its a great game Smile

See ya all in maybe November or December! In December I might be tressed as a long dick Santa Claus though so dont be surprised. My gift ofc will be a golden dildo for the Harry Theone Dildousernoobwhore! Sorry for giving away my gift plans already. Just wanted to make sure you dont buy one before christmas! Goodbye see ya all and GOD BLESS THE YEAR 2006 WITH STARFORCE 3 AND FUCKING MANLINESS IN THIS FORUM!!!!! Cool

Depends on what you're looking for.

If you're interested in an average GTA clone with too much busywork - with a compelling narrative - then it could be.

Does this release require Windows 10 ? Confused

I am wondering, because on my Win7 64bit rig it does not work, the windowed start menu is appearing and the (good) music can be heard but after clicking on "start" nothing happens and a few seconds later an error message "Mafia 3 stopped working etc. (AppCrash)" is apperaring.
I tried it with patch 1.1 (cdx). redistrubutables are installed, too.

I have no idea whats wrong.
