It's official, this game will not run on my configuration ...

Codex and Rld! both crash at start up. Interestingly enough, they point to different dll's as the faulty modules ...

Oh well ... maybe I try again in a year, when it is patched Smile

You're lucky. I'am uninstalling it now, it's boring af, just drive to your next target, thanks to AI that's dumb as a sheep, you need maybe one minute to sneaky kill him. Other missions are repeating themself over and over again. This has nothing to do with the orginal Mafia games. Just quick moneygrab for 2k, wtf were they thinking Mad

I'm trying to play the story missions (only) with the disabled HUD, it's clear that actual efforts were poured into those, with intriguing characters, good writing, and music perfectly used as a support.
But there is such a stark contrast between the narrative structure and all the rest, goddamnit. Okay Laughing
They truly ruined everything, by forcing the player to withstand humongous amounts of worthless activities, generic missions, and overall consolish silliness in addition to the all the technical limitations that already affect the game.

I know who you are Hangar 13, don't try to cover your true identity...the truth is out there!

It is indeed sad, you really wanna play through the story which is genuinely good, but the game keeps forcing you to go through hours upon hours of repetitive busywork. Sad

It really feels like the devs tried to create a proper Mafia game and gave the plot and characters the due attention, but then were probably forced by the publisher to insert all the ubishit fluff, because a 10-15 hours game without multiplayer isnt seen as profitable nowadays.

There are a lot of small details from other mafia games that are missing here, but that doesnt make the older mafia games any better. they had great story but nothing to do besides those. it had a large life-like open world with nothing to do in it. it was pointless. the game was as linear as max payne or COD, minus the good shooting mechanics.

Mafia 3 lacks some of the attention to details but the overall game is far better. the shooting is better. the driving and camera IMO is much better. the AI is better. the mission structure in so many cases is more open ended and allows more player decision making. there is stealth.

you can compare what mafia 1 and 2 did better than mafia 3 all you want, but you can oh so very easily do the reverse. and if you take all the small side missions of Mafia 3 out and remove them completely than you are left with half a game.... that is just like Mafia 2 or 1. Mafia 1 and 2 were what Mafia 3 is with somenice graphical touches and without the side content.

The only real complaint i see here is the technical side. Me, personally, i run the game on a 5 year old rig on about 30-40 FPS on high details 1080p and the game looks just fine to me. no worse than Watch dogs or GTAV (and i played both of them in the past 2 weeks so this isnt nostalgia memory here) only it runs worse but not crap. obviously this game should run better than it does.

if you want to complain - go ahead, but don't tell me the game is worse than Mafia 1 or 2 in terms of gameplay because it isnt. it does everything importnat the older games did, does it better and does more. (i dont count turning the lights off and on or changing clothes as a major gameplay element).
Technically M3 should run better than it does, but it isnt Batman:AK or AC:Unity level of f%ckfest, at least. hopefully patches will remedy these issues sooner than later.

I agree.

The engine is crap and bad PC Port, but there is a good game in here.

Great story and time period, also Vito is back.

Daniel Vavra please make a new Mafia game, stop teasing
