Is there a way to make this compatible with the codex release?

playing using codex and codex update plus the reshade, looks good and smooth but it crashes to desktop after 20 or 30 minutes with no window, question is, should reloaded hotfix eliminate this crash? or is this crash related to the reshade or the high unlimited framerate?

saw legit users with the same issues on steam forums. it seems the unlocked fps is unstable for many people. it does heat up the CPU a lot, so who knows if it's newb overclocks or the game itself.

Don't spend money on unoptimized console garbage with cover shooting mechanics and an option to auto-aim.

If you don't have much free time it's not even worth playing. Let alone $30.

I just cover a corner close to every baddie, whistle and knife kill. One mission, I must have had 15 bodies stacked up since the patrolling ones always got close enough to hear it..

Planning to pick and choose your kills in Mafia 3? You’ll be jumping in and out of the menu a lot. Once you’re armed with your combat knife couple of hours into the game, a helpful tutorial prompts you that to switch between lethal and non-lethal melee takedowns, you need to enter the pause menu and go to game options. No holding down the button to execute a knocked out enemy or using bumpers to switch at the moment of attack - just the clunkiest system imaginable.

I just learned about this... Rolling Eyes Facepalm (sry if repost)

Why would you ever want to do a non-lethal take-down (or non-lethal ANYTHING) in a Mafia game to begin with? Why's it even an option?

Because some people don't want to play 100% a merciless murderous bastard and would like to have a choice, when possible, to NOT kill every damn NPC in the game.

I think the game tells you this via one of those pop-up tutorials (Hold Q to acknowledge or what it is on keyboard.) the first time you return to the bar after a certain event there.
(IE when you get the knife and the ability to do said takedowns.)

Of course with all the other forced tutorial prompts from the start of the game until this moment I barely caught it myself as I was just waiting so I could press that button and continue with the actual game. Very Happy

Meh - non-lethal is for games like Deus Ex and Dishonored, where the line between good and evil is often a grey blur.

The Mafia franchise has always had a very strong distinction. Apart from the police officers who are just doing their jobs, you're always up against cold-hearted killers and thugs, none of which one can really relate to or feel sorry for.

You have to rename bink2w64.cdx to bink2w64.dll.

Is it normal that it still looks blurry with the hotfix?

Seems the best way to enjoy this is really by just watching some compilation of the cutscenes. Sad

i requested a refund today as they aren't providing any concrete info on further fixes and are generally stuck in the pre refund era on customer interaction.

that's 2000 rubles back into steam wallet, enjoy paying the valve fee and losing money on me 2k.

Only played a few hours, but I like the game. Cut scenes are really great, it's kinda watching a TV series. Even runs pretty smooth even though my gfx card is below the minimum requirement
