I think someone should try taking them to court under the trade descriptions.

How can they call it a race, and the fucking commentators making excuses, it's a bloody drizzle if it's that bad them how the fuck did they race I'm it a decade ago

Well that Kimi crash could have ended really badly if someone had hit him, since no visibility. Can understand why they stop it.

If is the tires then pirelli need to pull their fingers out,

How could they race in the rain years ago, but not now.

I do understand the need to flag it to clean up but calling it a race is a joke

Dat boi, he sure made that race worthwhile in the end.
Reminded me a bit of the epic rain drives of Schumi and Button

Yup, that was really amazing from Verstappen. He's the one that makes races interesting these days, always driving no fucks given mode, I like that Razz

His drifty recovery was unreal also: https://streamable.com/dpc3 (take that Ken Block xD)

There was a large part of luck... but I wouldn't say 80% He hit the throttle at the perfect time to straighten the car again and did everything right. Saying it was 80% luck is selling him short.

I hate praising him though, don't really like him but he's pure talent.

There were a few other drivers who had some great recoveries, quite enjoyable to watch that.

It's 50/50 in situations like that. 50% skill of knowing when to hit the brakes, when to let them go and when to get back on the throttle. And then 50% luck of not being too close to the barriers to begin with.

he quit because #YOLO Laughing

seriously though, lewis is faster than him so I imagine it was indeed very hard for him to win this year, I guess he wants to spend more time with family and not pushing limits anymore...

That's really surprising, but understandable. He had a dream, spent at least 25 years pursuing it with tonnes of troubles and complications, and now he went all *achievement unlocked*, my job is done, time to move on mangs Very Happy.
I respect that, especially after having read his message, he's going to be a filthy rich family man, who can blame him xD

I wonder who Mercedes will call as a replacement, perhaps someone young/inexpert like Wehrlein, or Bottas...or...Alonso! <3 Laughing

Good. Maybe Lewis will now get a teammate who's actually, you know...a teammate. Never liked Rosberg and you could tell that those 2 had very little interaction, ever Razz

The speculation on whom fills the seat is rather fun. Don't think it will be the Junior drivers. Ocon just got the FI drive, them picking Ocon over Wehrlein for that also makes me think they are not convinced he's ready for a step up.

At the same time with the rule changes I'd imagine they don't want a long term deal. If the Contracts are in place like we think they are then no: Alonso, Verstappen, Vandoorne, Vettel, Ricky Ardo/Rishjardo. The Hulk is pretty toight at Renault apparently.

Can't see Williams wanting to lose their experienced driver... then again the two teams have strong bonds, Toto owns half of the management company that has Bottas as a client and a lucrative engine deal might help.

Perez no one really talks about, which is a bit strange to me. He's been driving rather well. Sainz... RBR said no to Renault so don't think they'll say yes to Merc.

Would be funny if Button ended up there... fed up with F1 to then suddenly get a top drive. Laughing

Anywho, we'll see (bet I'll end up surprised). If I had the choice, without any contract bullshit I would go for a Hamilton/Verstappen combo.

I haven't watched F1 for quite a while. Can someone tell me how osberg won this season? Was it straight-up beating his teammate Hamilton or some injury or points deduction?

Depends who you ask.

It was a mix of things.
There were times he beat him, other times there were reliability issues for Hamilton. Over the season he had enough luck and solid drives to win it. The usual F1 stuff I would say.

frankly I don't have high expectations for the race, but F1 is still interesting even though it lost a big part of its charm in the last years...

All the Ferrari fans around these parts are overly-excited this year, also because of the medias that are contributing at setting the expectations high with the usual "This is the right year men!" propaganda. Thing is, it happened last year too and we know how it tragically ended for the horse Very Happy Laughing

I don't really have any preferences, but I just hope there will be more competition overall, another infinite internal battle would be too much deja-vu despite the bitchslapping and amusing drama.
