LOOT (BOSS is deprecated) is more of a guideline, anyway. Use common sense if the mod descriptions don't say where they need to go in the load order. Or better yet, if TES5Edit works on SE mods just check for conflicts with it.

Loot works with SE as long as you add the game to the list manually. It uses same repo as regular skyrim. And other values areally same too except for the paths.

already at 4.3gb vram in use at 1440p xD
still waiting for a good body/model mod to be converted, pretty happy with the rest i have installed so far other than some missing combat mods.
doesn't need to be supermodded, but some mods just add so much to immersion of the game it's hard to not use them.

I hate the vegetation in SE and especially mods that increase it. Play as a ranger and sometimes I just give up searching for my kills in the grass after a while.

It's one of the easiest things to alter yourself though, just edit iMinGrassSize to e.g 60 or something and you will have very sparse vegetation..
I have updated SFO with its own .ini so it's easier to find/edit (this .ini will override the default).

Open cities will fuck up your game save if you plan on going thief (missing npc in riften, might be other bugs as well), author got mad and closed the thread where people complained.
So yeah, better skip that one for the time being.

Yeah RWT and vurt's overhaul, Gecko's 4k mountains, ethereal clouds, simply bigger trees, SMIM
True Storms
Also WICO (for lore-friendly chars)
Ordinator + Sneak Tools (for thief/assasin type chars)
Just need an ENB and i'll be happy
Edit: seems ENB was just launched 309, now needs some presets made. Yay!

Is the Unofficial Skyrim patch still recommended or does it have many bugs in SE?

Note that there's a separate version for SE, and it's still in process of migration, so to say (i.e. they are investigating which texture/mesh/LOD fixes should be disabled to avoid overlapping with SE graphical updates).

The one that was posted few pages back actually works very well.
Only icons and the favorite menu is basic, but, eh, not a big issue.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
