I miss that game. Such great characters and vibe. Best GTA by far. Released for PC May 2003 - that was my senior year in high-school. Fuck, time fucking flies! Crying or Very sad

Don't think rockstar goes for remasters, too

It looks damn cool, and Vice City's glorious characters, atmosphere and music are still unmatched as far as I'm concerned, but after having recently replayed the game I'm not sure that even a complete graphical overhaul would quite cut it.

The gameplay itself hasn't aged too well unfortunately, as the complete lack of physics, simplistic shooting with zero kickback and limited freedom of movements (no swimming either) are noticeable handicaps that can hamper the experience. Euphoria was the best thing that's ever happened to GTA, of the once-you-try-it-you-can't-go-back type, along with the myriad of other modern technical enhancements affecting the gameplay and completing it. A Vice City remade with GTA V's engine on the other hand, now that would really be amazing. Razz /pointless_dreaming=off

I do believe Vice City is the one they will go back to for VI, if they're not doing the Los Santos -> San Fierro - > Las Venturas route

Yes but there would've been more work afterwards, like the PS and Xbox versions which were superior in terms of gameplay and some visual effects missing.

Friends, you’re probably already know that just two days before the release, Take-Two Interactive deleted our YouTube channel without any warning or attempt to contact us.

A huge amount of effort and time was invested into the channel, including hundreds of hours of streams dedicated to the mod's development. Additionally, we lost connection with our international audience, which was a significant part of our community. The teaser trailer for GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition gained over 100 000 views and 1 500 comments in less than a day. Unfortunately, the channel was removed without any possibility of recovery.

This was a cruel move from them, but we have already accepted the situation, since we cannot influence it. We refrained from commenting, as we weren’t sure what further actions could follow. So, we decided not to take any risks which could disrupt the release.

These past two days have been emotionally tough for our team since we envisioned the release very differently — with a cozy stream dedicated to the long-awaited launch of the mod. But none of that matters anymore.

The most important thing now is that we released the project on the promised date. It’s unclear how long it will remain publicly available or whether there will be demands to take it down. We are not opposed to reuploads, but we cannot openly encourage you to do so. Do as you see fit.

P.S. Initially, the modification was planned to require the original game in order to show respect to the publisher. However, over the past two days, we have completely rebuilt the project, and it is now available as a standalone "installation-ready package". Just download, install, and play. There are no issues with version compatibility since the mod is now fully autonomous. In light of the current uncertainties, we had to make this change to ensure the mod's stable performance for the widest possible audience.

We hope you enjoy taking a ride "familiar streets." Have fun playing, and thank you so much for sticking with us all this time. We see and deeply appreciate your support in the comments and messages ❤️

❗️Important: this modification is absolutely free without any commercial benefit. The project was created by fans for fans. The Revolution Team expresses gratitude to the developers (not the publisher) of the original game.

it's a great pity that Take-Two Interactive blocks modding initiatives that aim to maintain interest in their iconic games. Perhaps our project will serve as a precedent for the entire modding community.

Wait... how does a company like Take-Two have the power to remove a channel on Youtube?

I'm guessing this mod that demonstrates how fucking lazy Rockstar/Take Two are with their sweatshop remasters.

Thanks for the torrent, will give it a shot.

I checked it for a bit and it's waay better than the pajeet made Disabled Edition. No wonder Cuckstar wants it gone from the net, even if it was not standalone originally.
