Well with the current gaming landscape I wouldn't be that surprised if they try that one day. We've been seeing shit the past years that I once thought was unthinkable.
Neatiher did i tought it was true i think they have been talking about it then realizing it was a stupid idea...but i think ps4 pro is a very stupid idea from sony and its going to cost them in the long turn, microsoft will have advantage with scorpio for sure. in the mean time PC MASTER RACE
Should have done that from the get go, it was my biggest annoyance with the whole event and the fact that press was just repeating their garbage.
I wouldn't ridicule it so much if they were straight forward with it. Besides to most people buying their products: it doesn't matter. So they should have had some decency and not try to fool everyone with silly buzzwords/higher numbers.
not surprised some stores will break the date cause they just dont know better (or just some smaller store which risk some fines from sony to make better sales and to be ahead of the big stores; enough idiots out there who would be willing to pay more just to get it a few days early)
though im surprised its a big company like walmart who just puts it out in the shelfs. here in germany even most games arent sold anymore early in big stores cause the checkout register throws errors and warnings with "do not sell before xyz"
i dont think so, they always only spoke about 2160p aka 4k output and in their data sheets, faqs etc they only spoke about 1060p (and 720p, 1080i) and 2160p too
ps3 never supported uncommon resolutions too, only 720p,1080i and 1080p. on the other side the 360 supported formats like 1680x1050 just fine.so the ps3 always looked blurry on my monitor back in the days while the 360 was just fine (cause it supported the native res of 1680x1050)
Quite normal for mistakes to happen or people on the floor not getting the memo. Had a spell in retail and it happens way more than people think it does. There's just so much going on in bigger stores that some things slip through.
Most of the time it happens just once because people at the register notice these things (they'd have to make a manual exception because the products aren't registered or are on hold in the DB). The customer will get his deal but they'll make sure the fault is corrected right away.
It's usually incompetence/Miscommunication rather than maliciousness (aka selling products for more).
depends, i knew two stores here in my city who always broke the streetdates to be able to compete with the bigger chains here like karstadt, kaufhof, mediamarkt (ofc not with higher prices). while already 10 years ago many of them havent sold items even if they were there already (in boxes, not in the shelfs but accessable for everyone). think it was test drive unlimited which i wanted to buy in a bigger store, they had it 2 days early already but havent sold it to me. so i went to the smaller store again (and paid 4 bucks more)
end of story for the small stores: still not enough, all closed since years
Small stores are more likely to sell something under the counter indeed. Used to get my WoW expansions and some games early from the local video store. They knew they weren't supposed to sell them before the date but they were oblivious on the fines they could pay for it.
Quite miss that around here, they seem to like their shitty bulk stores for electronics that all sell the exact same crap.
i feel like being robbed i bought my ps4 from the beginning how is this fair ?
i feel like they must do an exchange where you can go and bring your ps4 in for an ps4 pro and pay a little extra on top of it would seem fair
hmm seems like there is something at my local shop
you can bring in your ps4 with 500 gb like mine and pay 250 € for ps4 pro
ps4 with 1 TB you need to pay 200 € for ps4 pro
should i do this guys or not ?
what is price of the ps4 pro?
also if you don't have a 4 K tv is it good to still buy the ps4 pro or do you need a 4 K tv for this?
I'll probably get one too. Or get a standard PS4 cheaper. I sold mine a few weeks ago to do either one of these things (I can now get a 1TB one cheaper than I sold my old 500GB - and with some warranty left too). Haven't decided yet. I'm leaning towards Pro but having a 1080p screen holds me back.
